Case no. 2
A young man aged 24, an IIT Rourkee grad, employed in a good software company with a pay package of 10 Lakhs per annum at Bangalore visited me a week ago. In fact, he was brought to me by his parents who are my old patients. As usual with any parents, they started telling me about his complaints... I insisted the boy to speak out and observed that he's a bit shy and also stammering (not a defect but out of nervousness). He was complaining about a right neck pain since 1.5 months (in lockdown). I turned to his anxious mother who reported that he's getting panic attacks, was frightened and wants her by his side, especially at night, since 2 weeks and passing stools frequently.
On thorough case taking, the boy revealed that he has resigned from his job over a disappointment for not receiving a promised hike and wanted to join another company 2 months ago (he was very confident and obviously smart enough to get one easily). But due to lockdown status he didn't get any interview calls. After 15 days, he started to lose hope and developed an insecurity about his job as he was serving his notice period of 2 months. And as days passed he got more nervous and started to panic which produced the above symptoms.
A medicine, Argentum nitricum 1M was prescribed, along with counseling and an advice to withdraw his resignation and continue his old job.
He called 2 days ago to inform me that he's ok now and also joined back his old company (he was not able to communicate to the HR before he visited us, although he wanted to go back to his job).
