Thrilled to share the launch of my first book on Periprosthetic Joint Infection (PJI) Prevention, created in collaboration with Dr. Kushal Hippalgaonkar sir — the result of months of research and dedication. Dr Niranjan Ghag edited it beautifully!

We’ve aimed to present this complex topic in a clear, practical, and easy-to-understand format, making it a valuable guide for joint replacement surgeons.

What made it even more special was that the book was unveiled by two towering figures in orthopaedics — Dr. A.V. Gurava Reddy Sir (Chairman - KIMS SUNSHINE Hospital, Hyderabad) and Padma Shri Dr. Ashok Rajgopal Sir (Chairman - Orthopaedics Dept Medanta Hospital, Gurugram). Their presence made the occasion truly unforgettable.

Conclusion - Both simultaneous and staggered bilateral TKA are safe when patient selection is optimized. While complication rates are comparable, staggered TKA results in higher transfusion requirements and prolonged hospitalization. The decision between these approaches should be individualized based on patient-specific risk factors, resource availability, and institutional protocols.
