From a gastro perspective, bowel health depends far more on:

- regular meals
- hydration
- fibre balance
- sleep timing

not on how violently you brush your tongue & retch at 7 a.m.

If your body needed daily external pressure to function, humans wouldn’t have survived this long.

Sometimes, the healthiest thing you can do for your gut is…
trust it.

Dr. Jagadeesh Reddy Bandi explains that aqueous humour plays a vital role in maintaining eye pressure and nourishing the cornea and lens. Increased pressure damages the optic nerve, leading to glaucoma, often called the silent thief of vision as vision loss is gradually devoid of symptoms. This makes early screening crucial.

Glaucoma screening involves advanced diagnostics such as intraocular pressure measurement, retina and fundus examinations, visual field testing, etc. In case of any suspicion, gonioscopy is done to assess the drainage angle, optical coherence tomography (OCT) is done to study retinal layers. These tools help detect glaucoma early and accurately classify it as mild, moderate, or severe protecting vision before it’s too late.

Glaucoma is often called the silent thief of sight because it usually shows no symptoms until irreversible vision loss has already begun. It damages the optic nerve and can lead to permanent blindness if left untreated. The good news is that while glaucoma has no cure, early detection and timely treatment can slow or prevent further vision loss.

Regular eye check-ups are especially important for people above 40 years, those with a family history of glaucoma, diabetes, high blood pressure, or long-term steroid use.

Don’t wait for symptoms—protect your vision with routine eye screening.

Beating cancer is not the end of treatment.
It’s the start of surveillance.
What many survivors don’t realise is that recurrence, when it happens, is often quiet first. Not dramatic. Not sudden. It shows up as small, persistent changes that are easy to ignore because life is finally “back to normal”.

One important medical truth:
Most recurrences are caught during routine follow-ups, not emergencies. Which means consistency protects more lives than panic ever will.
Survivorship care isn’t about living cautiously.
It’s about staying observant.
If something feels new, persistent, or unexplained, that’s enough reason to ask - not to worry.

Diet soda”, “zero sugar”, “no calories” these labels sound kidney-friendly.
But kidneys don’t read nutrition labels.
They respond to chemistry.
Kidney stones don’t form because of sweetness alone.
They form because of concentration, mineral balance, and urine chemistry.
Here’s where diet drinks enter the conversation.

Many diet beverages:
• Reduce actual water intake
• Alter urine pH
• Contain phosphates and artificial sweeteners
• Increase calcium and oxalate concentration in urine

That combination matters - especially for people with:
• Previous kidney stones
• Low daily hydration
• High salt or protein intake
• A family history of stones
This doesn’t mean every sip causes stones.

It means diet drinks are not neutral substitutes for water, especially if stone risk already exists.

Kidney stones are rarely about one bad habit.
They’re about repeated, everyday choices that slowly tip the balance.

Dr. Sindura Ganga R, Consultant - Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Laparoscopic Surgeon, Centre for Women and Child Health explains that cervical cancer is more prone to people who are sexually active at a young age, especially those with multiple sexual partners; people infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV); smokers; and people with low immunity and low socioeconomic status.

Confirmation of cervical cancer could require various tests. A Pap smear could be done either conventionally or through liquid-based cytology. Along with a Pap smear, HPV comprehensive testing could be done. This test can detect if the DNA of the human papillomavirus (HPV) has been multiplying within the cervical region. In case of ulcers or tumours, colposcopy or a guided biopsy can be used. Samples obtained through biopsy or endocervical scrapings can be sent to a lab for further analysis to understand if these abnormal cells can develop into cancer.
