Boredom 🥱

Emotional Hunger is when you think your hunger stems from stress, happiness, or boredom. There are a plethora of ways to cease boredom/emotional eating. The 1st thing is to realize that you are NOT actually hungry. In fact, you are only eating because you are BORED. You want to eat because you are idle and have nothing else to do.

Stress 🙇🏻‍♂️

Stress plays its own role in weight gain. While it can make you have less of an appetite at first, long-term (chronic) stress actually boosts hunger. Levels of cortisol (stress hormone) rise during stressful times. Due to increased cortisol levels, your body elevates it’s insulin levels, your blood sugar drops & you crave sugary, fatty foods. One of the best ways to combat stress 🥊 is in the gym!

No Goals 🚫

Not having a goal is a sure-fire way to set yourself up for failure. There is no purpose for eating other than for pleasure and you will not have any reason to restrict yourself from binging

Didn’t Eat Enough 🍽

Night-time eating may be the result of overly, restricted day-time food intake, leading to ravenous hunger at night. It may also be triggered by habit or boredom.

So you’ve overeaten and now you feel like all progress is gone?

Well here’s the truth....

You’re perfectly fine.

Just like you won’t get skinny eating one healthy meal.

You also won’t get fat off of one slip up.

With that said this is no excuse to fall into a downward spiral.

Instead this is a reason to go harder.

The most important thing to do if you do happen to fall of and over eat, is simply to get your mindset back on point.

Re-write down your goals, remember why you started. Don’t beat yourself up.

Consistency in working out will bring more substantial results than periodic extreme fitness routines.

Working out three hours a day for one month can do very little in terms of overall health including stress fractures, tendon and muscle strains that often discourage people from continuing to work out.

Follow a Diet 90% of the time! ✅

The 90/10 food rule isn’t so much a diet, and it’s not even a rule. It’s more of a mindset. It basically means that you eat clean, whole foods 90 percent of the time and live your life and socialize on the remaining 10 percent.

The truth is, everyone’s body and lifestyle are different. Rather than making your life fit around a strict diet plan that wasn’t designed with you in mind, the 90/10 allows for food flexibility and freedom.

The best thing you can do when eating this way though is focusing more on enjoying foods in the 90% diet range this is the key to not overdoing that “10%” and letting it undo all your work. A key thing for any “diet” is finding something you can maintain and consistently do!! Eating healthy doesn’t mean eating boring! When we don’t receive enough sleep, it triggers changes to hormones that regulate hunger & appetite. The hormone leptin suppresses appetite and encourages the body to burn energy.
