Bronchial Asthma:

1. Chronic inflammatory airway disease causing reversible airflow limitation, with symptoms like wheeze, cough, chest tightness, and breathlessness.
2. Triggers include dust, pollen, smoke, cold air, viral infections, exercise, perfumes, and stress.
3. Diagnosis is clinical and supported by spirometry showing reversible obstruction (improvement after bronchodilator).
4. Main treatment is inhaled corticosteroids ± long-acting bronchodilators; reliever inhalers (SABA) are for acute symptoms.
5. Prevention & control: avoid triggers, correct inhaler technique, use controller medication regularly, and get annual flu vaccination.

1. Most URTIs are viral (cold, sore throat) and get better on their own in 5–7 days — antibiotics are usually not needed.
2. Treatment is symptomatic: paracetamol for fever, steam inhalation, saline nasal drops, warm fluids, and antihistamines if needed.
3. Avoid antibiotics unless there is high fever, pus on tonsils, severe sinus pain, or symptoms lasting >10 days.
4. Rest, hydration, hand hygiene, and mask use help recovery and prevent spreading the infection.
5. Seek medical help if you have breathing difficulty, high fever >3 days, chest pain, dehydration, or symptoms worsening after day 5.
