Prakruthi Charitable Foundation Founded in 2008 by Dr. Kalpana Sringar, the foundation operates as a rehabilitation centre primarily serving patients with various mental illnesses.

Prakruthi Charitable Foundation, a rehabilitation center primarily serving patients with mental illnesses, was established by Dr. Kalpana Sringar in 2009. The main aim of the foundation is to reduce the family burden of the key relatives and bring patients back into the normal stream of society. Dr. Sringar and her husband, Dr. Araga, have given a part of their own house for rehabilitation. The institution provides medication, numerous types of counseling and organizes an array of activities for the betterment of mental patients. The activities include gardening, tailoring, embroidery, spoken English, handicrafts, drawing & painting, music therapy, yoga & meditation, indoor games and computer training. Medication and counseling which encompasses psycho-education, individual counseling, behaviour modification therapy, marital therapy are included as a part of the rehabilitation program.

Psychological problems are increasing day by day mostly due to stress in this competitive world. We at Prakruthi have started training people to become volunteers to help the affected people. I am grateful to all these people who have come forward to help people in need. Helping and reaching out to people with psychological and psychiatric issues is not easy because of the stigma attached to it. The work force needs patience, empathy, sympathy, committment and true dedication.
