Sneh Agritech is an experiment in the direction of holistic and natural farming. Similarly, we have worked in the dairy segment too for the last four years.

We have our farmlands measuring around 55 Acres at Yenkapally Village, Ranga Reddy District in the state of Andhra Pradesh which is about 100 Kms from Hyderabad. In our farms, we have been experimenting with a different approach to farming using the age old traditions and holistic systems. With a mix of traditional Indian methods, Homeopathy, Reiki, Agnihotra, Biodynamics, Music and Permaculture practices we have created our own system of Holistic Farming. We have found them to be highly successful in improving the crop quality, yield and the soil structure. In these four years, we have experimented with Sugarcane, Turmeric, Ajwain, Pigeon Pea, Onions and Cotton, and have gradually made an improvement with each year. With the knowledge gained over the years, we are now equipped to recreate the wonders in the farms that our ancestors always did. We have a mini dairy farm at home in the heart of the city where we are learning the art of managing livestock. We have been managing the seven cows and four bulls that we have with a holistic approach. Agnihotra, Music and Panchagavya are proving beneficial for the animals. A vermi-composting unit attached to the dairy is helping us to add value to the waste produced.

We started our journey in 2008, when we collectively bought a piece of land in Vikarabad District of Telangana. We started working in the fields in 2009, and turmeric was first sown in our lands by us in 2010. Harvesting naturally grown turmeric began at Maa Holistic Farmlands in the year 2011. We have grown from scratch over the past 12 years. We failed more often than expected, but every failure opened new doors to learning, and with every new learning, we grew closer to the divine and Mother Earth. Maa's blessings and teachings have helped us take one step at a time and stand on a platform today, where we can humbly say, we are here and we will make it count.

The first batch of fruit trees arrive at the farm. Two small areas of less than half an acre will be converted to multi layered orchards. The raised beds have been created and in the next week these plants will be transplanted on the beds.

The first flowers at the farm. We had planted Coconuts and Tabebuia Rosea as avenue plants to make best use of the sideways along the road. The idea was to make it pleasurable to the eye while we also get a fruit crop. The flowers are loved by bees, butterflies that add value to the farm.

The other plants to be added along are Tabebuia Aurea, Cassia Fistula and Jacaranda. The spaces between the trees will be filled with Jasmine and Roses in the future.

This tiny little plant (Millettia Pinnata ; English - Pongamia ; Hindi- Karanj) is not only standing strong in the summer heat but look at the shade that it offers to Mother Earth and to all those who seek it.

KARTHIK POORNIMA

The most auspicious of all the Poornimas (Full Moon Day) as per the HINDU and JAIN Shastra. A day that’s very special for us at Maa Holistic Farmlands. A day to do penance and celebrate.

Chandi Havan with Mahamritunjaya, Varahi and Baghlamukhi Havan being performed.

Post the Havan Shiv and Parvati Kalyanam was performed. And what better way than celebrate DEV DEEPAVALI with Diyas with 365 wicks each.

The magical tuber, a divine blessing, medicinal wonder. Turmeric a crop that is a a treasure for well being also is a symbol of wealth not only because of its Gold colour but because it is a symbol of purity and divinity and is valued when it is not tampered with and is sold in its purest form.

Sowing the crop at our farmlands during the waning period (Full Moon to No Moon cycle : Krishna Paksh). The period when the Earth forces are stronger and there is an inward pull. The Moon is in the Aquarius sign which makes it even more beneficial for root crops.

Storing Turmeric Seed the traditional way.

Harvested and cleaned Turmeric Rhizomes are put in a heap and covered with Cow Dung with a little Pot hole to allow air to circulate.

When you see the cracks in cow dung layer (every 15 - 20 days) apply a fresh layer over the existing layer.
