Tingling, numbness and weakness in the hand are often signs of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome — a condition where the median nerve (the nerve supplying sensation to the thumb and two fingers) gets compressed in the wrist. This can make simple daily tasks like holding a phone, driving, or typing painful and difficult. Over time, grip strength may reduce and fingers can feel clumsy or weak.
The condition needs a thorough clinical examination and assessment before treating, as there is a lot of cross over with other conditions.
When splints, rest, and activity changes do not provide relief, a Carpal Tunnel Release procedure helps by reducing pressure on the nerve. The surgery is usually quick, often performed under local anesthesia. A splint or light dressing protects the wrist, and simple finger and wrist exercises help restore strength and function.
If you are struggling with tingling and numbness in the hand do not ignore it anymore! As delayed treatment can leave permanent weakness. Let us help you get back to doing what you love!
