National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage, under CCRAS, Min. of AYUSH The National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage (NIIMH), under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of Ayush, Govt.

of India preserve the diverse and rich legacy of Indian medical heritage, including the AYUSH system Activities:
Survey and acquisition of rare medical manuscripts and rare books on Ayush systems of medicine, Modern medicine etc., in different languages. Transcription, transliteration, translation, and publication of medical works based on manuscripts, rare books, and unpublished works related to Ayush systems and to bring out critical editions in print & electronic form. Collection of medical information from other sources like ancient non-medical literature – Vedas, Puranas etc., Archaeological & Epigraphical sources, accounts of foreign travellers in India. Study of historical development and evolution of concepts of diseases, drugs and other aspects of Ayush Systems. Preparation of biographies of physicians/authors, and commentators of classical medical literature of different periods. Projects for writing History of Medicine Area wise, Period wise, and Theme wise. Collection, editing, and publication of News & Notes and historical materials, including the publication of the Bulletin of the Institute & Monographs. Organization of exhibitions on some specific occasions like seminars, celebrations, etc., to exhibit the development of medicine in India and for dissemination of Indian Medical systems. Referral services and guidance to research scholars. Preparation of bibliographies of journals/articles on the History of Medicine. Collection of oral history i.e., audio recording and the historical background and other details like palm-leaf and paper manuscripts, old books, certificates of grants, awards, etc., from hereditary physicians and traditional medical practitioners in and around Hyderabad city. Development and maintenance of Medico-historical Library. Development and maintenance of Medico-historical Museum. Design and development of IT applications to document and preserve Ayush medical heritage. Maintaining CCRAS-RMIS (Research Management Information System) – a continuous service since March 2014.

The latest issue of the Journal of Indian Medical Heritage (JIMH) (Earlier known as Bulletin of Institute of History of Medicine, Bulletin of Indian Institute of History of Medicine, Journal of Indian Institute of History of Medicine), a double-blind, peer-reviewed Quarterly publication of CCRAS-NIIMH, Hyderabad, is out now!

आयुष मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के केंद्रीय आयुर्वेदिक अनुसंधान परिषद के अंतर्गत राष्ट्रीय भारतीय चिकित्सा विरासत संस्थान, गड्डीअन्नारम, हैदराबाद में धन्वंतरि जयंती भव्य रूप से मनाई गई।
इस वर्ष धन्वंतरि जयंती के अवसर पर संस्था द्वारा धन्वंतरि होम, आयुर्वेदिक औषधीय पौधों का वितरण, आयुर्वेदिक पोषण आहार का वितरण तथा आयुर्वेदिक ब्रोशर और पैम्फलेट के माध्यम से जागरूकता कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए।
संगठन ने राष्ट्रीय त्वचा विकार यूनानी चिकित्सा अनुसंधान संस्थान, हैदराबाद और तेलंगाना औषधीय पादप बोर्ड, हैदराबाद के सहयोग से आमलकी, पिप्पली, पान् की पत्ति, एलोवेरा, हडजोड्, ब्राह्मी (सरस्वती), जलब्राह्मी, इंसुलिन, रणपाला (पर्णबीज), माचपत्री, ऒमु (पर्णयवानी) आदि औषधीय पौधों के वितरण का आयोजन किया।
धन्वंतरि जयंती के अवसर पर डॉ. वेम्पति राधाकृष्ण मूर्ति ने संस्था को 150 से अधिक पत्र के तेलुगु चिकित्सा ताडपत्र हस्तलिपि पुस्तक भेंट की।
इस कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में डॉ. सुरेश जाकोटिया और डॉ. विजयलक्ष्मी शामिल हुए। रेवेन्यू बोर्ड कॉलोनी के निवासी, वरिष्ठ नागरिक संघ के सदस्य, मालकपेट और वेंकटाद्री नगर कॉलोनी के निवासी इस कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुए। लगभग 120 अतिथियों और संस्थान के अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों ने इस कार्यक्रम में बड़े उत्साह के साथ भाग लिया और संस्थान के प्रभारी सहायक निदेशक डॉक्टर गोली पेंचला प्रसाद ने कार्यक्रम को सफल बनाने के लिए सभी का आभार व्यक्त किया

"स्वस्थ आहार, सशक्त राष्ट्र!" 🍎🥕
राष्ट्रीय भारतीय चिकित्सा संपदा संस्थान, हैदराबाद ने आज दिनांक 10-10-2025 को "8वें राष्ट्रीय पोषण माह 2025" के अंतर्गत जिला परिषद हाई स्कूल, सरूरनगर, हैदराबाद में एक सफल जागरूकता कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया।
इस कार्यक्रम का मुख्य उद्देश्य छात्रों को पोषण के महत्व और एक स्वस्थ जीवन शैली अपनाने के लिए प्रेरित करना था।
कार्यक्रम की मुख्य झलकियाँ:
• डॉ. संतोष माने (अनुसंधान अधिकारी) ने अपने व्याख्यान में बताया कि कैसे उचित पोषण शारीरिक और मानसिक स्वास्थ्य की नींव है। उन्होंने प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली को बढ़ावा देने वाले विटामिन और खनिजों के सही सेवन पर जोर दिया।
• डॉ. सत्यव्रत नंद और डॉ. तपस्वी (सीनियर रिसर्च फेलो) ने महिलाओं और किशोरियों में पोषण की कमी से होने वाले एनीमिया पर प्रकाश डाला और दैनिक आहार में पत्तेदार सब्जियां, फल, और बाजरा शामिल करने की सलाह दी। उन्होंने छात्रों से जंक फूड से बचने का आग्रह किया।
संस्थान के प्रभारी सहायक निदेशक डॉ. जी.पी. प्रसाद जी के कुशल मार्गदर्शन में आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम से लगभग 150 छात्र लाभान्वित हुए। छात्रों को आयुर्वेद और पोषण से संबंधित विभिन्न विषयों पर जानकारीपूर्ण पैम्फलेट भी वितरित किए गए।
हम प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती भाग्यलक्ष्मी, उमादेवी जी, स्कूल स्टाफ और सभी प्यारे छात्रों की उत्साहपूर्ण भागीदारी के लिए आभारी हैं।

The CCRAS-National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage (NIIMH), Hyderabad, successfully concluded an awareness program at Holy Mother's High School today, 7 Oct 2025.
Dr. Subhosh, A.D. (Ay.), broke down Shadrasa Bhojan—the simple practice of including all six tastes (Sweet, Sour, Salty, Pungent, Bitter, Astringent) in your meal to ensure balanced nutrition and digestion. Remember to follow Ritucharya (a Seasonal Diet) for overall well-being!
Dr Tapaswi, SRF (Ay.), reminded students that proper nutrition is their daily source of energy, good mood, and strong immunity. Eat local and seasonal!
It was a great session with 120 students learning about Ayurveda, Dinacharya, Food Science, and Nutrition. Thank you to everyone who contributed to its success!
Huge thanks to Dr. G.P. Prasad, Assistant Director in charge, and the staff of Holy Mother's High School! Approximately 120 students benefited from this session and received insightful Ayurvedic pamphlets.

राष्ट्रीय स्वैच्छिक रक्त दान दिवस 2025 (NVBDD) का पालन! 🩸❤️
CCRAS-राष्ट्रीय भारतीय चिकित्सा विरासत संस्थान, हैदराबाद में आज, 1 अक्टूबर 2025 को राष्ट्रीय स्वैच्छिक रक्त दान दिवस (NVBDD) 2025 मनाया गया।
CCRAS मुख्यालय, नई दिल्ली और स्वास्थ्य सेवा महानिदेशालय, स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण विभाग के निर्देशों के अनुपालन में, संस्थान परिसर में प्रभारी सहायक निदेशक, डॉ. जी.पी. प्रसाद के मार्गदर्शन में यह आयोजन सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न हुआ।
इस अवसर पर संस्थान के सभी अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों ने स्वेच्छा से रक्त दान को बढ़ावा देने और जरूरतमंदों के लिए रक्त की सुलभ आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के उद्देश्य से शपथ ली।

हिंदी पखवाड़ा 2025 का भव्य समापन!

भारतीय राष्ट्रीय चिकित्सा संपदा संस्थान, हैदराबाद में दिनांक 14 सितंबर 2025 से 30 सितंबर 2025 तक आयोजित 'हिंदी पखवाड़ा' का समापन समारोह आज, 01 अक्टूबर 2025 को प्रभारी सहायक निदेशक डॉ. गोलि पेंचल प्रसाद जी के मार्गदर्शन में उत्साह और गरिमा के साथ सम्पन्न हुआ। संविधान के अनुच्छेद 343 के अनुसार 14 सितंबर को हिंदी को राजभाषा के रूप में स्वीकार किए जाने की स्मृति में यह आयोजन अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों को दैनिक कामकाज में हिंदी के अधिक से अधिक उपयोग के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने हेतु किया गया था। इस पखवाड़े के दौरान हिंदी वाद-विवाद, निबंध लेखन, प्रश्नोत्तरी सहित विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें कर्मचारियों ने बढ़-चढ़कर भाग लिया। डॉ. प्रसाद जी ने अपने आशीर्वचन में कहा कि हिंदी केवल संचार का साधन नहीं, बल्कि हमारी सांस्कृतिक पहचान और राष्ट्रीय एकता का प्रतीक है, और उन्होंने सभी को प्रेरित किया कि वे हिंदी को प्रतिदिन अपने कार्यों और व्यवहार में अपनाएँ। समापन समारोह में, डॉ. संतोष माने जी ने विजेताओं की घोषणा की और डॉ. गोलि पेंचल प्रसाद जी द्वारा विजेताओं को प्रमाण-पत्र प्रदान कर सम्मानित किया गया, जिसके बाद राष्ट्रगान के सामूहिक गायन के साथ कार्यक्रम का समापन हुआ।
