We are proud to share a new study, “Outcomes of Medical management of Ectopic Pregnancy with a Combination of Mifepristone and Methotrexate,” published in the International Journal of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology. ✨

🌟Authored by Drs Subhashini Yerramilli, Shashikala Dasari, and Kameswari Surampudi, this research looks at how certain ectopic pregnancies can be treated safely without surgery, using a combination of medicines.

📰 What did the study show?

For carefully selected, stable patients, combining these two medicines led to faster recovery, fewer hospital visits, and safe outcomes while avoiding surgery in many cases.

🤔Why this matters:

Early diagnosis and the right treatment can reduce complications, lower costs, and support gentler, patient-centred care. 🌸

✨“Kangaroo Mother Care helped my baby gain weight and boosted my breast milk supply,” shares Mrs Sruthi. ✨

After facing complications early in pregnancy, Sruthi’s doctor in Delhi referred her to Fernandez Hospital for specialised care. From her first consultation to postpartum recovery, she found the reassurance, expertise, and compassion she had been seeking. ❤️

Under the guidance of Dr Tarakeswari, Chief Medical Officer, Sruthi gave birth to a preterm baby. In the days that followed, the combined care of the NICU team and the warmth of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) played a vital role in her baby’s steady growth and recovery. 🌟

Today, Sruthi’s little one is healthy, happy, and thriving, a testament to the power of timely care and the human touch. 🌸

We are proud to share a new study “Duration of Meconium-stained Labour: Prevalence and Association with Adverse Maternal and Neonatal Outcomes,” published in the International Journal of Reproduction, Contraception, Obstetrics and Gynecology. ✨

Authored by Drs Subhashini Yerramilli, Akshu Hemanshu Trivedi, and Sailaja Devi Kallur, this study helps clear a long-standing fear around meconium-stained liquor. 📰

🤔 What did the study show?

When meconium is present from the start of labour, it is often less dangerous than when a baby passes meconium during active labour. Meconium that appears later can signal stress and is linked to higher risks for both mother and baby requiring closer monitoring and timely decisions. ⏲️

🌸 Why this matters:

Not all meconium is the same. Understanding when it appears helps doctors counsel families better, avoid unnecessary panic, and focus attention where it’s truly needed.

We are proud to be part of the study “Maternal Risk Factor Stratification and Outcomes of Births at a Tertiary Perinatal Referral Centre Network in India,” published in The Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology of India. ✨

Authored by Drs Siri Yerubandi and Pallavi Chandra Ravula, this large study looked at more than 1 lakh births over 11 years to understand how pregnancy risks can change over time. 🌸

📰 What did the study find?

Many women who begin pregnancy as low-risk may develop complications later. Regular monitoring, early identification of risks, and timely referral to specialised care can make a crucial difference to outcomes for both mother and baby. 🤰

🤔Why this matters:
Pregnancy isn’t static and care shouldn’t be either. Ongoing assessment and the right care at the right time help ensure safer births and healthier beginnings.

We are proud to be part of the study, “Biomechanical Assessment of Upright Birthing Positions Using Marker-based and Markerless Motion Capture Systems,” published in PLOS One. 💪

Authored by Lauren Haworth, Inderjeet Kaur, Maimoona Ahmed, and Anastasia Topalidou, this research looks at something many birthing people intuitively know but science hasn’t fully explained until now: the position you choose during labour really matters ✨

Using advanced motion-capture technology, the study compared common upright birthing positions like squatting, hands-and-knees, leaning forward, and sitting on a birthing ball. It found that each position changes how the hips, pelvis, and spine move, which can influence comfort, ease of labour, and how the baby moves down during birth. 🤰

🤔What does this mean in simple terms?

There is no single “best” birthing position for everyone. Different bodies respond differently and having the freedom to move and choose positions can help labour progress more smoothly and feel more comfortable. 🌸

This study strengthens the evidence behind personalised, woman-centred birth care, empowering women with better information to make choices that work for their bodies. ❤️

Stork Home

Stork Home is a new luxury birthing centre, and also part of the very old, and very established Fernandez hospital chain, Hyderabad. We bring you all the modern luxuries, and technological advantages of a new facility, and the invaluable experience, and wisdom of an age-old institution devoted to mothers and babies.

At Stork Home we believe in the inherent wisdom of nature: All women are experts at birthing, even if they’ve never actually given birth before. Given the right environment and meaningful support, including midwifery, most women can birth naturally, and confidently.

While we do offer the services of a top-notch medical team, state-of-the-art facilities, and the latest in medical technology, we are happy to say that most of our mothers-to-be don’t have much need for it
