Chronic diseases are the major cause of death and disability worldwide. In India, chronic diseases are projected to account for 53% of all deaths by 2030. In the next 10 years, over 60 million people will die from chronic disease. Chronic diseases create significant, adverse, and under-appreciated economic effects on families and communities. India stands to lose $237 billion over the next 10 years from premature deaths. The number of deaths before the age of 60 due to coronary heart disease alone will increase from 7.1 million in 2004 to 17.9 million in 2030; This means that by 2030, more lives will be lost as a result of this disease in India than is projected for China, Russia, and the USA combined. Chronic diseases are primarily caused by a cumulation of lifestyle factors that adversely affect individual health. Healthy dietary habits and regular exercise not only prevent such chronic conditions but in many cases can reverse the effects of the disease. Today we are coming together to change how health and fitness are fundamentally understood. We see a massive gap in the understanding of reactive medicine versus preventative health care when research demonstrates that fitness is an advanced measure of good health. To pursue this standard of health, improve the economics of healthcare, and provide a better quality of life to Indians, we are founding Shogun fitness with a vision to conform to a preventative healthcare mindset and empower communities to live fit lifestyles.

Scaling CrossFit Workout Part-V

It’s important to remember that experience level is just one of many factors, so the naming convention does not necessarily dictate who will use which scaled version. Additionally, coaches may need to pick elements from multiple scaling levels to preserve the programmed stimuli for a single athlete.

Because I’ve used the beginner/intermediate/experienced naming convention, I’ll offer definitions to help a coach identify which scaled version is appropriate for athletes in a class.
