Yoga can work wonders to balance your hormones. Most causes of hormonal imbalance are centered on stress. Yoga reduces stress and encourage a state of calm in your body. Slowing down and reducing stress helps your nervous system rest and recover from constant battles, both physical and mental.

Ways to a healthy Liver

Maintain a healthy weight.
If you’re obese or even somewhat overweight, you’re in danger of having a fatty liver that can lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), one of the fastest growing forms of liver disease. Weight loss can help in keeping liver healthy.

Eat a balanced diet.
Exercise regularly.
Avoid toxins.
Use alcohol responsibly.
Avoid the use of illicit drugs.
Avoid contaminated needles.
Don’t share personal hygiene items. For example, razors, toothbrushes and nail clippers can carry microscopic levels of blood .
Practice safe s*x. Unprotected s*x or s*x with multiple partners increases your risk of hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

Wash your hands. Use soap and warm water immediately after using the bathroom, when you have changed a diaper, and before preparing or eating food.

Follow directions on all medications. Never mix alcohol with other drugs and medications even if they’re not taken at the same time. Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter medicines, supplements.

Get vaccinated ( hepatitis A, hepatitis B)

National Protein Day!

In India, February 27th is celebrated as the National Protein Day, to create awareness about protein deficiency and encourage people to include of this macronutrient in their diet. The day urges people to include this crucial macronutrient in their diet. This year’s theme of India Protein Day is ‘Food Futurism‘.

Protein, a macronutrient, has several amazing benefits. Right from serving as one of the body's building blocks, to developing, repairing bones, skin, cartilage, and increasing muscle mass, protein is an essential nutrient that also aids in weight loss.

1 gm of protein per kg of bodyweight is needed for proper functioning.
Ex - a 60 kg person needs 60 gms of protein.

Protein Day's significance draws from the fact that every individual must make it a daily habit to intake an adequate amount of protein in their daily diet.

Examples of plant-based protein would be chickpeas, lentils, paneer, tofu, rajma beans etc.

Some of the animal-based proteins include fish, eggs, chicken, cheese, milk etc.
