Historic Milestone in Shivpuri

A proud and historic moment for Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, as robotic surgery was performed for the first time at Shrimant Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Medical College and Hospital, Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Renowned robotic and laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Mahak Bhandari successfully performed three advanced robotic surgeries during the 1st CME on Robotic Hernia and GB Stone with Live Robotic Surgery.

Surgeries performed:
✔️ 2 Robotic Hernia Repairs (Robotic TAPP)
✔️ 1 Robotic Gallbladder Surgery (Robotic Cholecystectomy)

The procedures were performed live from the operation theater and transmitted to the lecture theatre, where over 200 medical students and faculty members watched the surgery and learned advanced robotic surgical techniques.

The surgeries were performed using an Indian-made surgical robotic system developed by SS Innovations, founded by Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, highlighting India’s growing strength in robotic surgical technology.

Hon’ble Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Raje Scindia, 56th Minister of Communications and 10th Minister of Development of North Eastern Region, personally witnessed the live robotic hernia surgery from inside the operating room alongside Dr. Mahak Bhandari.

This landmark event marks an important step in advancing surgical education and introducing cutting-edge robotic technology in emerging medical institutions.

Jointly organized by Sri Aurobindo University, Indore and Shrimant Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Medical College and Hospital, Shivpuri.
