September is childhood cancer awareness month. World rose day is celebrated in Sep to instil hope, confidence and joy in the lives of children and families fighting cancer. Department of Pediatrics, CHRC celebrated rose day with childhood cancer survivor meet. The children enjoyed magic show, young warriors gave wonderful performances and shared their experience as survivors and inspired others fighting this deadly disease. Beautiful performances were given by Mudita Hope group and our Nurses for kids. Choithram hospital building was lit up gold in solidarity to create childhood cancer awareness.

The program was inaugurated by Choithram group CEO Dr Sumit Nandekar and Director Medical Services Dr Sunil Chandiwal. The program was coordinated by Pediatric Hematologist Dr Shivani Patel. Dr Shivani has treated more than 60 children with various childhood cancers in the last 2 years besides successfully conducting a bone marrow transplant just last month for a child with lymphoma.

Department of Dietetics Choithram Hospital & Research Centre organized an advanced training workshop on Body Composition Analysis on August 19, 2023 to raise awareness among Dietetics professionals and students pursuing carrier in Nutrition. The aim of this workshop was to help the community in maintaining good health and fitness. More than 60 delegates attended this training workshop. One of the highlight of this training workshop was " How body composition analysis (B C A ) helps to identify early risks of metabolic syndrome like obesity, diabetes, and fatty liver". It's an easy and time-saving test that is available at Choithram Hospital and, based on it simple life style intervention can significantly improve many of the metabolic ailments.
The guest faculty for this workshop was Ms. Maghida S., Chief Dietician, Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, along with team of dietitians our hospital who have vast experience in this field and have helped thousands of patients.
