So, how did we celebrate Doctor's Day yesterday?
This patient, a 2 year old baby, came to us late in the night at with a history of coin ingestion, and without any significant delay, the baby was planned for foreign body removal.
We finally successfully removed the foreign body and shifted to baby to ward at 1am post midnight.
So, the conclusion?
Being a doctor just doesn't involve treating patients. It's a marathon journey where you prioritize your patient's well-being over everything. A cascade of lifelong sacrifices. And what not. But it's more than worth it, I guess. The respect that you get and, more importantly, the satisfaction that you have after treating your patients is unparalleled.
Also, please make sure that you create awareness and ensure that no child puts any foreign body in their ear, nose, or throat. And in the worst case, if they do, please contact me at the earliest.
