It has been a delightful 8 months since the inception of department of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery and Liver Transplant at SMS hospital, Jaipur.
We have reached a milestone of 100 major surgeries in less than a year.
Whipple pancreatoduodenectomy , PSRS, Extended cholecystectomy, CDC excision, Distal pancreatectomy, Major Hepatectomy ( 14 - including 6 Right extended hepatectomy) and 2 Liver Transplants (DDLT) are among other surgeries, which are regularly performed in our department. We are very thankful to The Principal , Medical Superintendent, our Seniors and colleagues (in various departments) for their constant support and blessings. A very special regards for our Anaesthetist Dr Poonam Kalra and Dr Satveer and OT / ICU / Ward staff.

We are proud to present first ever Randomized control trial on optimal duration of antibiotic prophylaxis in live Liver Donors in the world.
We have tried to make a small step in decreasing antibiotic resistance.
