List length effect
List length effect makes it harder to recall longer lists.
Your parent shows you some crayons and asks you to remember the colors. If there are only a few, like red, blue, and green, you'll likely be able to recall them. But if there are 10 or more different colors, like red, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, pink, brown, black, and white, it will be harder for you to remember them all, especially the ones in the middle of the long list. The longer the list of colors, the more difficult it is to recall them all.
