A NOBLE GESTURE!

Dr. Uma Devi Gavini, who is from Andhra Pradesh's Guntur, donated her entire wealth worth Rs 20 crore to Guntur Government General Hospital to construct a new hospital block. She also refused the request to name the hospital block after her.

Dr. Gavini completed her MBBS from Guntur Medical College in 1965. After pursuing higher education, she moved to the US and settled there nearly 40 years ago. She is presently working as an Immunologist and Allergy Specialist in the US.
