As per the directions of Worthy Director Ayush Dr SURESH SHARMA ji and under the supervision of DAO Jammu Dr VANDANA DOGRA an Ayush health checkup and awareness camp was conducted in collaboration with MIER College on 4.11.2025.
The Extension Unit of MIER College of Education (Autonomous) organized an awareness lecture on “Women’s Reproductive Health (Menstrual Hygiene)” at Government Girls Middle School, Kote (Purkhoo), an adopted village under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiative. The primary objective of the programme was to develop awareness among adolescent girls and village women regarding menstrual health, hygiene practices, and preventive measures essential for maintaining reproductive well-being.
The programme began with a warm welcome address by Mrs.SUMAN DEVI, In-charge of the Extension Unit and Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. She extended a cordial welcome to the RESOURCE PERSON ; Dr. HIMANI BHUTYAL , Medical Officer Ayush along with Sarpanch Rajni Devi ji,Headmistress , Mr. Narayan , school staff, students, and local ladies. In her address, Mrs. Suman Devi highlighted the importance of creating awareness on women’s health issues, especially in rural areas.School of Social Sciences and Humanities, MIER College of Education, participated actively in the programme. Dr. HIMANI BHUTYAL delivered an informative lecture on “Menstrual hygiene and reproductive health” explaining common problems such as irregular cycles, dysmenorrhea, premenstrual syndrome, urinary tract infections, and anemia. She emphasized proper hygiene practices, balanced nutrition, regular medical consultation, and psychological well-being. She also guided participants on safe menstrual management practices and preventive measures. Later on IEC material regarding Female health and ayush medicines were distributed among students , staff and locals.
