Reasi Marks 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’ with Grand Patriotic Rally.
Reasi, November 13: To commemorate 150 glorious years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Reasi, in collaboration with the District Administration Reasi and District Police Reasi, organized a grand patriotic rally under the theme —
“Run for Vande Mataram – Let’s Celebrate the Timeless Spirit of Our Nation.”
The rally was organized under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ms. Nidhi Malik (IAS), and was flagged off by Sh. Sudarshan Kumar (JKAS), Programme Officer ICDS Reasi, along with Sh. Tarsem Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi, Dy.SP Headquarters Sh. Vishal Singh, Dy.SP DAR Sh. Sarbjeet Singh (KPS), Sh. Deepak Gupta CEO Reasi and Sh. Khyati Maan Khajuria SHO (Reasi).
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Sudarshan Kumar emphasized that Vande Mataram is not just a song but a symbol of India’s freedom, unity, and cultural pride. He encouraged youth to uphold the spirit of patriotism through active participation in nation-building.
DYSSO Reasi, Sh. Tarsem Singh, thanked the Deputy Commissioner and District Police for their continuous support and said, “The rally reflects our collective pride in the nation and aims to ignite patriotic fervour among students and citizens alike.”
More Than 1500 students, teachers, NSS volunteers, and Police and CRPF officials took part in the rally, waving tricolours and chanting slogans of national pride. The streets of Reasi came alive with patriotic energy as participants celebrated the legacy of Vande Mataram.
The rally culminated at General Zorawar Singh Stadium, Reasi, where participants took a pledge to uphold the ideals of unity, integrity, and love for the nation. The event concluded with the rendition of Vande Mataram and words of appreciation for all departments involved.

69th National School Games: Joint Director DYSS Chairs Managers’ Meet

JAMMU, November 8: The Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, Ms. Vinakshi Koul, who also serves as the Organising Secretary of the 69th National School Games–2025 in the disciplines of Taekwondo and Table Tennis, chaired a crucial Managers’ Meet at the lodging centre in Jammu today.

She was accompanied by Ms. Megha Baogia, Deputy Director (Activities) and Convener of the Accommodation and Mess Committees, along with the Conveners of the Ceremonies, Reception, and Publicity Committees.

Welcoming the Managers from across India, Ms. Koul extended warm greetings on behalf of the department and assured them of top-notch arrangements and warm hospitality in the City of Temples. She urged all contingents to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline, adding that every effort is being made to ensure the grand success of the Games.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Baogia briefed the Managers on key logistical and operational aspects, reaffirming the department’s commitment to providing smooth coordination and comprehensive support to all participants.

As a mark of goodwill, gift hampers were presented to all Managers, who appreciated the excellent arrangements and efficient management by the organising team.

Both dignitaries expressed their deep appreciation for the visionary leadership of Ms. Yasha Mudgal, Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Youth Services and Sports Department, and Dr. Anuradha Gupta, Director General, YSS, whose guidance has been instrumental in the successful organisation of the Games.

With the arrival of all 34 participating teams, Jammu is now ready to host a vibrant and memorable edition of the 69th National School Games–2025.

The participating contingents represent the diverse sporting spirit of India, hailing from Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, CISCE, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, IPSC, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, KVS, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, NVS, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Vidya Bharati, West Bengal, and CBSE.

Inter-Zonal District Level Youth Festival Organised at Reasi

Reasi, October 31:
The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Reasi, organized an Inter-Zonal District Level Youth Festival at the DC Complex Auditorium, Reasi. The event was graced by Sh. Tarsem Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Reasi, who presided over the function as the Chief Guest.
In his address, Sh. Tarsem Singh highlighted that the Youth Festival serves as a vibrant platform for young participants to showcase their hidden talents and cultural skills. He further emphasized that the festival is celebrated every year at the National Level in January to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Ji, whose ideals continue to inspire and guide the youth of the nation.
Participants from Zones Chassana, Mahore, Arnas, Reasi, and Pouni enthusiastically took part in a variety of events, including Folk Dance, Folk Song, Group Song, Painting, Poetry, Story Writing, and Declamation, showcasing their creativity, confidence, and enthusiasm.
The festival aimed to promote cultural harmony, unity, and youth engagement across different zones of the district, fostering the spirit of teamwork, national pride, and cultural preservation among the younger generation.

Sh. Dhruv Gupta Inaugurates UT Level Archery AAG Boys Competition at SMVD Sports Complex, Katra
The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Reasi, organized the UT Level Archery (AAG Boys) Competition at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sports Complex, Katra.
On this occasion, Sh. Dhruv Gupta, Assistant CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Katra and Director, SMVD Sports Complex, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Sh. Tarsem Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, officials, coaches, and selectors.
While addressing the Archers, the Chief Guest motivated the participating players and highlighted the proud legacy of the SMVD Archery Range, where renowned para-archers Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar were trained and both have been honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award.
On the occasion, DYSS Reasi also felicitated Olympian and Gold Medalist Sh. Rakesh Kumar for bringing laurels to the nation at the international level.

Sh. Tarsem Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi, congratulated all the medal winners for their remarkable achievements.
The weightlifters of District Reasi showcased outstanding performance by clinching 3 Gold and 2 Silver medals during the Inter-District UT Level Weightlifting Competitions conducted by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Srinagar recently.
A total of 5 participants from District Reasi were deputed for the event and all five secured medals, marking a proud moment for the district. Furthermore, 3 athletes out of 5 have been selected for the National Level Competitions, bringing great honor to the district.

JK Police Organises “Run for Unity” at GHSS Gota, Zone Chassana, District Reasi

Kerala Lifts Football Trophy in a Spectacular Grand Finale, 69th National School Games Conclude in Srinagar.

Director General YSS Lauds Organizing Committees, Looks Forward to Future Events.

Srinagar, October 10, 2025: The 69th National School Games-2025 for Football, organized by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), culminated on Friday in a spectacular grand finale. The tournament, which commenced on October 6th, showcased a thrilling display of skill and sportsmanship from U/19 age group young athletes across the nation.

Kerala emerged as the champion, clinching the gold medal with a commanding 2-0 victory over a spirited Meghalaya in the final match. The day was packed with high-stakes football, beginning with two intense semi-finals. Kerala secured their place in the final by defeating Manipur 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw, with goals from M. Danish and Adwaith Leneesh. Manipur's goals were scored by L. Leishba and Kh. David Singh. In the other semi-final, Meghalaya overcame the host team J&K with a decisive 3-1 victory.

In the tournament's hardliner match, the host team J&K delivered a thrilling performance, defeating Manipur with a 4-3 scoreline. Reflecting on the team's campaign, Coach Ishfaq Ahmed, an International Footballer, stated, "We may have missed the gold, but the spirit, pride, and passion of our boys shine brighter than ever. Every effort, every kick, every moment was pure dedication to Team J&K and YSS. Proud J&K."

The Director General of the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K, Anuradha Gupta, expressed her profound gratitude to the convenors and members of all the committees for the flawless ex*****on of the sport extravaganza. She commended their efforts, stating, "The success of this event is a reflection of our team's dedication. I hope the same zeal is carried forward as we prepare to host the upcoming National in Wushu and two more Nationals in Taekwondo and Table Tennis in Jammu." Interestingly the Media and Publicity Committee played a pivotal role in the tournament's outreach, achieving a remarkable feat by broadcasting all 58 matches live and providing continuous match updates across all the Department's social media handles.
The successful organization of these games has set a new benchmark for sporting events in the J&K, celebrating sportsmanship and youthful energy, and concludes a memorable chapter for school sports in India.

Jammu & Kashmir | CM Omar Abdullah Inaugurates 69th National School Games 2025 at Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 6: The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Sh. Omar Abdullah, today inaugurated the 69th National School Games – 2025 at TRC Stadium, Srinagar.

Girls Inter-School AAG Athletic Meet Held at Reasi.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Reasi, successfully organized the Girls Inter-School AAG Athletic Meet at the General Zorawar Singh Stadium, Reasi.
