101-Year-Old Patient Successfully Undergoes Complex Urological Surgery at Ankur Maitrika Hospital
In a remarkable demonstration of medical expertise and advanced surgical care, a 101-year-old patient suffering from a giant hydrocele, associated with significant discomfort and pain, was successfully treated at Ankur Maitrika Hospital.
The clinical challenge was further heightened by the patient’s Grade 3 kyphosis, a severe spinal deformity that made positioning, anesthesia administration, and surgical access significantly more complex. Despite these high-risk factors, the patient underwent a successful orchidectomy and hydrocelectomy, showcasing the hospital’s capability to handle delicate and demanding cases with precision.
The surgery was expertly led by Senior Urologist Dr. Anchal Kotwal, whose vast experience and surgical finesse were instrumental in navigating the complexities of the case. Anesthesia was meticulously managed by Dr. Rohit Gupta, who ensured optimal stability throughout the procedure despite the added challenges posed by the patient’s advanced age and spinal condition.
The operation was further supported by a dedicated operation theatre team, including OT assistants Gourav, Vishal, Yatinder, and Arun, whose coordination and professionalism ensured smooth ex*****on of the procedure.
A special word of gratitude goes to Dr. Ajay Wakhloo, Director of Ankur Maitrika Hospital, whose leadership, vision, and provision of state-of-the-art medical facilities made it possible to handle such a Complex and challenging case safely.
This successful surgery stands as a testament to the hospital’s clinical excellence, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to patient care—proving that age is no barrier when medical expertise meets world-class facilities.
