“Successfully organized an engaging hands-on Karyotyping workshop for 42 undergraduate medical students in the Genetic Laboratory at M.P. Shah Government Medical College, MDRU Jamnagar, Gujarat on 21st November 2025. The program was expertly convened by the Professor Dr. Mital Patel and Dr. Ankit Adhvaryu from Anatomy Department with an insightful session led by Dr. Rahul Thumbar, Medical Geneticist. To understand community health, you must go to the community.

Starting today’s FAP visit with the

Medicine, Shri M.P. Shah GMC,

PHC Visit at VASAI

Students learned about the organization and functions of a PHC, including
outpatient and inpatient services, national health programmes, record keeping,
and referral systems. They interacted with the staff to understand routine
activities and community outreach.

Subcentre Visit

Students observed the roles of CHO and Male and
Female Health Worker in providing preventive and
promotive care. They were oriented to register
maintenance, RM NCH+A activities and all other
Comprehensive Primary Health Care services at
the community level.

Mamta Divas at Anganwadi

During Mamta Divas, students observed maternal and child health services,
including immunization, growth monitoring, antenatal check-ups, and nutrition
counselling. They also learned about the coordination among ASHA, ANM, and
Anganwadi Worker in service delivery.
