I often hear clients say that their thyroid disease symptoms can get in the way of regular exercise. Hands up if you can relate 🙋🏻♀️
🦋 As a Hashimoto's warrior, I know too well how debilitating symptoms can be, leaving you feeling weak and fatigued.
I also know that making exercise a part of your daily routine can actually help improve your thyroid levels and manage your symptoms better.
🚶🏻♂️In saying that, moderate exercise provides a whole lot of other health and wellness benefits including, lowering your risk for heart disease, which is important since having a thyroid disorder increases your risk of developing a heart condition.
Start slow and build up gradually with time and frequency, especially if you haven’t exercised in a while.
Moderate exercise helps to:
✴️ Improves thyroid levels
✴️ Increases your energy levels (initially you may feel fatigued, but regular workouts will improve tiredness
✴️ Supports deeper, better sleep
✴️ Improves your mood - Depression is common and exercise boosts your endorphins (feel good hormones) and makes you feel good and happy
✴️ Increases your bone density
✴️ Boosts your metabolism – by burning calories & developing muscle, which in turn burns fat
