If u ever find such baby with abdominal wall defect aka Gastrochisis (congenital defect of the anterior abdominal wall caused by incomplete closure of the lateral body folds during embryonic development.As a result, the abdominal contents— mainly small intestine-herniate through the defect without any sac around it )
Immediate Management:
1. Protect the exposed bowel: Cover with sterile, warm, saline-soaked gauze and plastic wrap to prevent drying and infection.
2. Prevent hypothermia and fluid loss.
3. Insert nasogastric tube for gastric decompression.
4. Start IV fluids and antibiotics.
5. Urgent surgical repair: Primary or staged closure (using a silo bag if necessary.
