Thirty years ago only 5% of our adult population had diabetes, while today the number stands at more than 30%. Two out of three people with diabetes die from heart disease or stroke. Research indicates that people with diabetes may be losing between 10 to 19 years of their life. All health and disease statistics and research indicate that diabetes is the new major health challenge of this century. Contrary what you hear, there IS a cure for diabetes. SHARAN assists you in preventing and reversing diabetes by identifying the causes of the disease and using food as medicine. They have been used and tested by doctors all over the world and are becoming a part of mainstream knowledge in other countries.

Crunchy outside, soft inside - and no refined ingredients.

Ingredients

1 cup grated fresh coconut
1 cup roasted peanuts, coarsely ground
1 tbsp sesame butter or peanut butter (optional)
¼ cup raisins
½ cup date paste
Sufficient whole wheat flour to make the dough of a rollable consistency

Method

Knead all the ingredients together into a dough, adding wheat flour as required to make the dough. Taste for sweetness and add more date paste if required. Roll into ½” diameter balls, flatten and place on a parchment lined baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 °C for 10-15 minutes, turning them once halfway, until crisp on the edges. Allow to cool and enjoy.

This curd rice is creamy, cooling, and perfect for your gut - made with simple ingredients and a whole lot of goodness.

Perfect for days when you want something soothing yet wholesome 🌿✨

Ingredients

For the Rice
1 cup cooked brown rice
1 cup vegan curd
1 tsp chopped ginger
½ cup grated carrot/ French beans/ raw mango
For the Tempering
1 tsp mustard seeds
Dry red chillies or green chillies
4 – 5 curry leaves
⅛ tsp asafoetida (hing)

Method

Cook your whole brown rice with salt as usual and add the curd. Add finely chopped ginger. You could also add grated carrots, chopped beans or chopped raw mango. Mix. To temper, heat a pan and add the mustard seeds. Wait for them to pop. Add chopped green chillies or dry red chillies, curry
leaves and asafoetida to the pan. Pour the mixture over the rice.

Serves 4-5
