Your health is in your hands. A Breast Self-Examination (BSE) is a simple, effective step you can take every month. It helps you become familiar with your body's normal look and feel, making it easier to notice any changes early on.
Follow These Simple Steps for Your Monthly Check:
1)Timing is Key: Perform the examination once a month, ideally 2-3 days after your period ends. If you no longer have a period, pick an easy-to-remember day each month.
2) Look and Feel: Use the tips of your fingers to move in different patternsโup and down, in circles, and towards the nippleโto cover the entire breast and armpit area.
3) Check for Changes: Examine your skin for any changes in color or texture, and look for any dips, lumps, or unusual nipple discharge/color change in the mirror.
Spotting a change early makes a huge difference in treatment outcomes. Don't hesitate to contact a doctor if you find anything concerning.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a crucial reminder that early detection saves lives!
