So many physiotherapists have popped up in every neighborhood — some claim 10 years, some 20 years of experience (the more years they claim, the longer they’ve been cheating people). Ask them, “Do you have a certificate?” Each one will say, “Yes.” The places from which they obtain those certificates are actually illegal.
❌ Distance-learning BPT (distance BPT) — discontinued after 2010 by UGC directive.
❌ BPT as a private candidate (some universities in northeast India offer this) — not valid.
❌ Non-attending BPT (some institutions in North India still run these) — these are also illegal.
❌ B.Voc in Physiotherapy — controversial and illegal.
❌ MAKAUT’s “Diploma in Physiotherapy Technology” — incorrectly named; an illegal course.
❌ Kalyani University’s “Diploma in Physiotherapy Techniques” — illegal according to NCAHP.
❌ Bharat Sevak Samaj’s “Diploma in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy / Activity Therapy” — illegal according to NCAHP.
❌ Any diploma-based physiotherapy course is illegal because it does not permit registration with NCAHP.
❌ Physiotherapy courses taken by students coming from an Arts/Commerce background — not recognized.
