Your face can sometimes reflect what your hormones are going through.
Different hormonal imbalances can show up as visible changes on the face:
• Hypothyroidism – puffiness, swollen eyelids, dull skin
• High insulin / insulin resistance – jawline acne, oily skin, facial hair, dark neck pigmentation
• High prolactin – tired looking eyes, mild acne, dull complexion
• High cortisol – round “moon face”, facial puffiness, double chin, redness
These signs don’t always mean a hormonal problem, but if you notice persistent changes, it may be worth getting evaluated.
Early diagnosis and proper treatment can help restore hormonal balance and improve skin and facial appearance.
