My grand dad Dr.Nirmal Kumar Sarkar originally hails from Dehradun. He was the fourth son of Raibahadur Suresh Chandra Sarkar. He completed his schooling from Hindu. I.S.C. from St.Paul 's College. He completed his M.B. from R.G.Kar Medical College. He was an honorary member of State Legislative Assembly, the then Bidhan Parishad under the aegis of Governor Haren Mukhopadhay in 1957.
A prolific writer. Doctor by chance and writer by choice. The first Bengali medical dictionary crowned his glory.The First Aid serves as a handiwork for day to day medical necessities.
He made his foray in the realm of literature with Saren Hati Kalvert which was published as Chhaya Diganta by M.C. Sarkar. Dreamland published in Amrito, Duronto Ghurni and many more are like denizens in his literary bandwagon. He dabbled his hands in Mouchak, a literary magazine for kids. He had immense contribution in Baitanik the editor of which was Sri Bhawani Mukhopadhay.
Dr. Nirmal Sarkar leaves his footprints in the annals of the forgotten past crushed under the hustle bustle of mundane life without respite.
