Originally coined as Rotary Shankar Nethralaya, Saltlake, Kolkata, and later as Rotary Narayana Nethralaya as a unit of Narayana Hridulaya (NH), the eye specialty hospital had gained popularity under the prolific leadership of several renowned doctors of Eastern India, and has been a pioneer in Ophthalmology care for 18 long years. It was undertaken by Techno India Group in February 2022, and has thence been renamed as Rotary Techno Netralaya (a unit of Techno India Technologies Ltd.) Rotary Techno Netralaya, already functioning as a landmark eye hospital in Eastern India, has been re-established as a part of a vast expansion plan with the help of latest and advanced equipment and technology. It is already a world class centre for eye treatment, serving people from far and wide for over the last two decades. Several hundred patients daily receive treatment here, especially from the eastern part of the country. Not only from Bengal but people from neighbouring countries also come here for treatment.
