🍽️Moong Dal Halwa (Traditional Style)

Ingredients:
• Yellow moong dal – 1 cup (soaked 3–4 hrs)
• Ghee – 1/2 to 3/4 cup (traditional recipe uses more, adjust as desired)
• Milk – 1 cup
• Water – 1 cup
• Sugar – 3/4 to 1 cup (adjust to taste)
• Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
• Saffron strands – a few (soaked in warm milk)
• Cashews, almonds, raisins – for garnish

Steps:
1. Soak & grind dal: Soak moong dal for 3–4 hours. Grind into a coarse paste without water or with just a few drops if needed.
2. Cook paste in ghee: Heat ghee in a thick-bottomed pan. Add the moong dal paste and roast on low flame. Keep stirring. It’ll first clump, then loosen, and eventually turn aromatic and golden.
3. Add liquid: Mix milk + and saffron strands+ water and slowly add to the roasted dal, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
4. Add sugar: Once the mixture thickens, add sugar. Stir until it thickens again and ghee starts to separate.
5. Flavour it: Add cardamom powder and nuts. Cook for another minute.
6. Serve hot: It tastes divine when warm with a dollop of ghee!
