πͺ Celebrate a Safe & Happy Diwali! πͺ
From Dr. Akhilesh Agarwal
Diwali is the festival of light, joy, and togetherness, celebrating the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. This festive season, let's enjoy the celebrations safely and keep our loved ones protected.
π‘ Safety Tips for a Joyful Diwali:
Wear close-fitting cotton clothes to prevent loose fabric from catching fire.
Light firecrackers only in open, designated spaces, away from homes and flammable materials.
Never try to reignite a failed firecracker β douse it with water or sand safely.
Keep a safe distance while lighting fireworks, using a long stick or candle.
Always have a bucket of water or sand nearby for emergencies.
Supervise children around fireworks and diyas.
Place diyas and candles on stable, fireproof surfaces, away from curtains and decorations.
π₯ First Aid for Burns:
Stay calm β donβt panic.
Cool the burn: Run the affected area under cool (not cold) water for 10β20 minutes.
Remove tight items: Take off jewelry or tight clothing from the area, as swelling can occur.
Avoid home remedies: Do not apply butter, oil, toothpaste, or turmeric.
Consult a specialist for proper care.
β¨ Letβs make this Diwali bright, joyful, and safe for everyone!
