Since its inception till 2002, "Aesculapia" was the name of the social fest of Medical College, Kolkata.

Today the phoenix stands resurgent from the ashes of oblivion.

Aesculapia promises to be the first ever pan-department medical convention in eastern India, encompassing all disciplines of Medicine and Surgery. It serves not only to educate but also to illuminate and inspire, to bring the very best minds in medicine under the roof of the oldest medical college in Asia, and to expose the MBBS student to the cutting edge of medical research.

We, at Calcutta Medical College, have been thrust upon with greatness by the rich legacy that defines our institution. Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, an eminent member of this heritage, was a pioneer in revolutionizing medicine across the country. He was just as successful as a leader, setting exemplary standards for those around him.
So, it is only fitting that we, at Calcutta Medical College, venture out with the inaugural version of the Dr B C Roy Memorial Debate. This debate promises to be a forum for constructive discussion and deliberations, challenging the best minds to think and deliver.
This debate is an integral part of Rhapsody 2017, the annual social of Medical College Kolkata and will be a platform for youthful zest and unbroken passion that define Rhapsody itself.
