On December 19, our campus came alive for the Christmas Carnival. From the bouncy castle to the candy floss, the energy was incredible, but nothing beat the smiles when Santa Claus arrived with gifts. What a magical day!We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of Calcutta Chowrenghee for their immense generosity. Special thanks to the Principal, teacher coordinators, and the dedicated members of the Interact Club of BDM International for their support in making this event a resounding success.

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the incredible response we received at our recent holiday events! It was a joy to showcase our work and connect with so many of you at the Kolkata International Women’s Club (KIWC) Christmas Bazaar on November 30 and the German Consulate Charity Christmas Market on December 13.A heartfelt thank you to the organizers at KIWC and the German Consulate Kolkata for giving us this wonderful opportunity to participate. Your support provides a vital platform for us, and we are so grateful to be part of these beautiful traditions.

We are thrilled to announce our wins at two major inter-school fests: SMAYAN (Sushila Birla Girls’ School): Winners in Band Performance & “Dress to Impress!” and KALAKRITI (Loreto College): 2nd Place in Dance!Kudos to the students for their amazing talent and to the teachers for guiding them with such love. November 21, 2025 saw us successfully conduct the conference on Neurodevelopmental and Neurodegenerative Disorders: Redefining Diagnosis and Management. A part of the conference was an enriching and engaging panel discussion on “Every Child is Special”, a topic delved on very well by 5 eminent Kolkata doctors.

A Proud Moment for Manovikas Kendra!
Huge congratulations to our talented student, Korok Biswas! We are overjoyed to share that Korok was officially invited to the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Headquarters in New Delhi.
In recognition of his exceptional skills as a Classical Dancer, he was felicitated during the NIOS 36th Foundation Day celebrations on November 23rd, 2025.

Ishan Banerjee. Dancer. Baker. And now, State Award 2025 Winner!

We are thrilled to celebrate Ishan, who has been honoured with the State Award 2025 in the Creative Adult category. Ishan has been a cherished part of the Manovikas Kendra Kolkata family since 2018, and his journey is defined by pure dedication.
His love for dance began at age 7, and today he performs everything from creative to folk and Rabindra Nritya, while also teaching with support from the Allen Dance Institute. When he isn't dancing or studying for his OBE Level-B exams, you can find him baking wonderful treats like cupcakes and chocolates with his mother.

Congratulations, Ishan! We are so proud of your hard work and talent.

On November 21, 2025, we brought together over 150 attendees and leading experts to discuss the future of Neurodevelopmental and Neurodegenerative care.Jointly organised with the Indian Psychiatric Society, West Bengal State Branch, the event featured incredible insights from top Psychiatrists, Neurologists, and Paediatricians.Thank you to everyone who made this event a success. We are pleased to share that on November 26, 2025, a free Dental Check-up Camp was successfully organised for our students in collaboration with Kusum Devi Sunderlal Dugar Jain Dental College and Hospital. This initiative provided essential oral healthcare screenings and was deeply appreciated by the parents and guardians of our students.We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Principal, and Dr Sinjana Jana, Professor & Head of Department of Paediatric Dentistry, for their time, expertise, and support in making this camp a success. Thank you for caring for our community.

On November 24th, our students had an incredible time exploring the world of tactile art in a special workshop led by Siddhant Shah, National Award-winning design expert and founder of Access for ALL.Using cut and torn paper, the students experimented with layering to create beautiful landscapes. It was more than just an art class — it was a journey of sensory engagement, collaboration, and creative expression. A huge shout out to the Kolkata Centre for Creativity for organising this and making such a wonderful experience possible for our students!

National Institute of Open Schooling .kendraManovikas Kendra offers a variety of courses under the National Institute of Open Schooling (an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education, Government of India), such as Open Basic Education – Levels A, B and C (equivalent to Classes 3, 5 and 8 respectively), Secondary and Senior Secondary levels, and Vocational Courses including Housekeeping and Bakery & Confectionery. The flexibility offered by the Open Schooling System helps students to pursue academic courses at their own pace.
