Once Raj went to the doctor near his residence, to discuss his problems regarding high acidity, stomach fullness, no hunger, burning sensation.
So, the doctor advised him to have digestive enzymes with an anaesthetic antacid.
Now the question arises is ,is it safe or ok to have an anaesthetic antacid on a daily basis.
So,
hi guy it's me Sourav Ghosh, Pharmasist.
The answer for raj and many others is that, if you are facing the problem that raj faced, then it is obviously ok. To consume the antacid on a daily basis.
Explanation:
Anaesthetic antacids combine the acid-neutralizing effects of antacids with the pain-relieving properties of a topical anesthetic. They work by neutralizing stomach acid, which reduces irritation and pain, and by numbing the esophagus and stomach lining to provide further pain relief.
Side effects:
Anesthetic antacid gels can cause several side effects, including local irritation, altered taste, and in rare cases, more serious reactions like methemoglobinemia or allergic reactions. Common side effects include constipation, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and a chalky taste.
Common Side Effects:
Constipation: Antacids containing aluminum hydroxide can cause constipation due to its astringent properties.
Diarrhea: Antacids containing magnesium hydroxide can cause diarrhea.
Nausea and Abdominal Discomfort: These are common side effects of antacids in general.
Chalky Taste: Some formulations may leave a chalky taste in the mouth.
Local Irritation: Anesthetic gels can cause temporary burning, tingling, or stinging.
Altered Taste: Prolonged use or over-application of anesthetic gels can affect taste sensation.
