✨25 years, one dream, and a moment that moved us deeply:

On the evening of April 20th, under the warm lights of the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre in Mumbai, Jan Swasthya Sahyog received the Yashraj Bharati Samman 2025 for Innovation in Healthcare.

It was a moment of deep joy and reflection, for all of us who have been part of this journey in the villages, forests, fields, and clinics of central India over the last 25 years. This Samman belongs to every doctor, nurse, community health worker, coordinator, technician, and farmer who has given their heart and soul to the idea that healthcare should reach everyone, no matter where they live, irrespective of their paying capacity.

It is shared with our patients, whose strength humbles us, whose stories shape us, and who remind us why we do what we do. 🙏🏽

We are so grateful to all those who have stood beside us over the years- friends, colleagues, funders, and well-wishers who believed in the dream of Jan Swasthya Sahyog, even when the road was tough. This moment is as much yours as it is ours.

At the centre of it all are the communities we work with- their trust, participation, and partnership are the true heart of our work. They have not just received care, but helped shape it. 🤝

Receiving this recognition in the presence of Hon’ble Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan Ji (Governor of Maharashtra), Shri Amitabh Kant Ji (G20 Sherpa, Ex-CEO NITI Aayog), and Shri Dilip-Walse Patil Ji (Former Speaker, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly), alongside so many inspiring changemakers, was an evening we will always carry with us. 🌟

This Samman is not a full stop, it’s a comma; a pause to smile, to thank, to gather strength, and then to return- with even more resolve- to the everyday work of listening, learning, and building a healthcare system that is rooted in dignity, equity, and love.

The journey continues, and we’re so glad to be walking it together🌈

We’re so happy to share that the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation has joined hands with us at Jan Swasthya Sahyog to support our Phulwaris- safe and loving spaces where children in rural Chhattisgarh receive daily care, nutritious meals, and a chance to grow, learn, and just be kids. 💛

This partnership means a lot to us, and even more to the little ones and their families who are at the heart of what we do.

As we bid farewell to another eventful year, we at Jan Swasthya Sahyog are filled with immense gratitude for all the milestones achieved, challenges overcome, and lives impacted. Together, we’ve continued our mission of delivering affordable and accessible quality healthcare, fostering resilience, and empowering rural and tribal communities. 💚

This year, we also celebrated a proud and inspiring moment for JSS: our Secretary, Dr. Raman Kataria, was awarded the Mridula Rohatgi Oration, one of the highest honors bestowed by the Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (IAPS). 🌟

Established in 1994, this prestigious oration commemorates the remarkable contributions of Dr. Mridula Rohatgi, a past president of IAPS. We are thrilled to announce that our work on sickle cell anemia in Madhya Pradesh has been published in the prestigious Indian Journal of Medical Research.

This publication highlights the significant strides we're making in understanding and addressing this critical health issue through our interventions.

Our learnings will also help other stakeholders working on SCD in rethinking their strategies for better management of the condition. In this paper, we have also emphasized the importance of Peer Support Group meetings for managing SCD cases in rural settings.

🩺 Hypertension Awareness Rally 🌟

Our students just wrapped up an incredible Hypertension Awareness Campaign with an energetic awareness rally. They marched through Ganiyari with eye-catching posters and powerful slogans, spreading crucial information and educating the community about the risks of high blood pressure, importance of regular check-ups, and ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Their enthusiasm and dedication were truly inspiring.

🌟 Celebrating World Sickle Cell Day! 🌟

On June 19th, Jan Swasthya Sahyog marked the World Sickle Cell Day with a series of impactful activities across 20 villages in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh to raise awareness about the disorder. Our team conducted informative meetings and distributed pamphlets to educate the community.

At the district hospital, JSS paired up with DHS to conduct Patient Support Group Meetings, screen new patients, and distribute new disability certificates to those in need. It was a day filled with learning and support!

A special highlight was the Govt. nursing school's heartfelt song and role play, spreading awareness through art and performance 🎶🎭

In Dindori, we had the honor of welcoming the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar along with the Chief Minister and the Governor of MP. They engaged with stakeholders, including our JSS team, to delve deeper into the challenges of sickle cell anemia. Their visit included interactions with patients, screening sessions, medicine distribution, and patient counseling for those who traveled from far and wide. 🙌

A huge shout out to everyone who participated and made this day memorable and impactful! 🥳
