In 1997, a small shop quietly opened its doors in Kotagiri - tucked in the heart of the Nilgiri hills, with shelves carrying wild forest honey, handcrafted products, and the stories of the indigenous communities behind them. 🏔️
There was no grand launch. No viral moment. Just a genuine belief that the forests and the people who protect them deserve a place in the market - on their own terms.
That shop was the Green Shop. And 29 years later, it’s still here. 🌿
Over the decades, it has welcomed thousands of customers who walked in curious and walked out connected - to a jar of wild honey, to a handcrafted soap, to a community they had never met but suddenly felt close to.
It has been the first introduction to Last Forest for many. The place where people first learned that behind every product on that shelf was a family, a forest, and a way of life worth protecting.
The shelves have changed. The products have grown. But the purpose has never shifted - to connect people with the communities and forests of the Nilgiris in the most honest way possible. 🏔️
