HOW TO MAKE A NUTRITIOUS FOOD CHOICE DURING PERIODS :

During periods,we face problems like-less energy, headaches,back-aches,cramps,and things like mood swings for hormonal changes during periods.We can not avoid the physical issues during periods but we can minimize our physical and mental issues by taking some initiatives like -

(1.) We need to take iron -rich foods like organ meat (liver), legumes(soyabean,peas)
Dried fruits (dates)
Seeds(garden cress seeds)
Leafy greens and vegetables

(2.) Taking at least 1 whole fresh fruit like - guava,amla,orange,lemon these are high in vitamin C content which helps to absorb the iron in the body from iron rich food ,we consume.

(3.) As we loss so much fluid through blood loss,so it is utterly important to keep ourselves properly hydrated with lots of fluids like coconut water,fruit juice and water also.

(4.) During periods because of high BMR ,our body temperature increases, so we should avoid foods that can increase our body temperature and make us feel uneasy like high protein foods or spicy foods.

(5.) One should take enough calories during periods as we may feel weak at this time , proper amount of proteins like egg whites, pulses and other iron rich foods should be taken and proper amount of carbohydrates and fat also should be taken.
