Under NMBA, JKSPYM District Drug De-Addiction Centre Kulgam organized a one-day awareness programme on drug abuse at St. Xavier School, Kulgam. The programme aimed to educate students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of prevention at an early stage. An interactive session was conducted with the students, during which various aspects related to drug abuse, its impact on physical and mental health, and the significance of making responsible life choices were discussed. Under NMBA–JKSPYM, the District Drug De-Addiction Centre Kulgam organized a one-day awareness programme on peer influence and substance abuse at Baitul Hilal Chawalgam. The programme aimed to educate participants about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the impact of negative peer pressure on young individuals. During the programme, IEC material was distributed among the general public to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of prevention. Under NMBA JKSPYM, the District Drug De-addiction Centre Kulgam organized a one-day awareness programme and interactive group session on “Understanding Drug Abuse” at Ayesha Ali Academy Kanipora Kulgam. The programme commenced with a warm welcome by the Principal, Mr. Ummar Sheriff E, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to actively participate. The resource person, Asma Hamid from the District Drug De-addiction Centre Kulgam, conducted the session and provided detailed information on the causes, harmful effects, early warning signs, and preventive measures of drug abuse. The group session was highly interactive, where students shared their thoughts, asked questions, and learned practical ways to resist peer pressure and adopt healthy coping strategies. At the end of the programme, a pledge-taking ceremony was conducted, where all participants pledged to remain drug-free and spread awareness among others. As a token of appreciation, the team received a memento from the Headmaster, Mr. Javid Ahmad Bhat. Under NMBA JKSPYM, the District Drug De-addiction Centre Kulgam organized two specialist talks on the topics of Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS at the Conference Room of Government Degree College Kulgam. The objective of the program was to create awareness among students and Staff regarding the adverse effects of substance abuse and to provide essential information about the causes, prevention, and treatment of drug dependence. The second session focused on HIV/AIDS, where participants were sensitized about its modes of transmission, preventive strategies, and the importance of reducing stigma and discrimination. Under NMBA, the JKSPYM District Drug De-addiction Centre Kulgam, in collaboration with the District Administration Kulgam organized an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme at the Tehsil Office, Kulgam.
