Today on 21.11.2025 DMHP unit DH kulgam Conducts Community Awareness Programme on Mental Health and Tele-MANAS at Hablishi kulgam .A special emphasis was placed on Tele-MANAS, India’s national mental health helpline, through which individuals can access round-the-clock psychological support, counselling, and crisis intervention. The audience was informed about the toll-free helpline number 14416 / 1-800-891-4416.

As part of the world mental health campaign 2025 the DMHP unit of DH Kulgam today conducted screening-cum-counselling sessions at PHC Nehama, focusing on early identification of mental health issues and providing on-spot counselling and referrals.”


The activities included:

DMHP Unit Kulgam Organizes Mental Health awareness cm counselling program at Al Hilal Residential Educational Institute Chawalgam kulgam.

Kulgam, October 25
As part of the World Mental Health Campaign, the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) Unit of District Hospital Kulgam conducted a Mental Health awareness cm counselling program at Al Hilal Residential Educational Institute Chawalgam kulgam.
The resource persons for the programme were Mr. Irshad Ahmad, Clinical Psychologist, and Mr. Saleem Yousf, Psychiatric Social Worker.

The activities conducted during the programme included:

Awareness sessions on mental health and well-being.

Screening and counselling of students for mental health issues.

Interactive discussions to promote emotional resilience and coping skills.

Distribution of IEC materials (pamphlets and brochures) on mental health topics.

Kulgam, October 18:
As part of the World Mental Health Campaign, the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) Unit of District Hospital Kulgam conducted a Mental Health Camp at PHC Bogam.Various activities were organized to raise awareness about mental health and promote psychological well-being among the community.

The activities included:

Mental health awareness sessions for patients, attendants, and staff.

Screening and counseling of individuals for common mental health issues.

Distribution of IEC materials (pamphlets and brochures) on mental health topics.

The DMHP team emphasized the need for regular mental health check-ups and encouraged people to seek timely help without stigma or hesitation.

Today on 14-10_2025 DMHP Unit DH kulgam conducted a Mental Health Camp under the World Mental Health Campaign at SDH Yaripora.Various activities were organized to raise awareness about mental health and promote psychological well-being among the community. During the camp, psychiatric consultations, counseling sessions, and mental health screenings were provided to the participants.

With the theme " Access to Service - Mental Health in Catastrophes & Emergencies" for the current year celebration of the day, District Hospital Kulgam under the administrative tuning of Medical Superintendent DH Kulgam- Dr Syed Masood Ahmad and active supervision of RMO - Dr Anjum Jalal today held an enthusiastic celebration of the day at DH Kulgam and at Alsaboor paramedical institute and pharmacy kulgam.
The program was graced by Dr. Humuyan Majeed (Psychiatrist), Mr. Irshad Ahmad( Clinical psychologist) and Mr. Saleem Yousf (Psychiatric Social Worker) as the resource persons. They delivered insightful talks highlighting the need to reduce stigma, encourage early intervention, and ensure access to mental health services for all.

Interactive sessions, discussions, and awareness activities were held with students and participants to emphasize positive mental health practices and the role of community support.

On the occasion of World Su***de Prevention Day (10th September 2025), the District Mental Health Unit, District Hospital Kulgam, observed the day at Altaf Memorial Govt. Degree College, Kilam Kulgam, in line with the global theme "Changing the Narrative on Su***de."

The District Mental Health Unit kulgam reaffirmed its commitment to continue providing free mental health services, counseling, and community outreach to ensure better mental well-being in the district.The event concluded with a strong message: “Your life matters. Reach out, speak up, and support each other.”
