Today on 2nd August 2025, the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) Kulgam successfully conducted an Awareness Cum Counselling Sessions for students and teachers at Ayesha Ali Academy Kanipora Kulgam.The initiative aimed to promote Mental Well-being, reduce Stigma associated with Mental Health issues, and provide Psychological support to the School Community.
During the Programme, the DMHP team Sensitized the participants about common Mental Health issues among School-going Childrens and Adolescents, such as Exam Stress, Anxiety, Depression, and Behavioral concerns. Individual and Group Counselling Sessions were also held to address specific concerns of students and staff members.
The Awareness Programme was Conducted Successfully Under the Supervision and Valuable Guidance of CMO Kulgam and Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kulgam Dr. Syed Masood .

Today, on July 31 2025 District Mental Health Programme Successfully conducted an Awareness cm Counselling Programme at HWC SAILKHENJEN BOH DH PORA Kulgam. The initiative aimed to foster Mental Health Awareness, reduce stigma, and provide accessible Psychological support to the local community along with Psychotheraputic Interventions.
The programme featured interactive sessions led by Mental Health Professionals from DMHP DH Kulgam The Topics covered included recognizing signs of Mental Health challenges, Stress Management techniques, and the importance of seeking timely help. The team was led by Psychologist Irshad Ahmad and Psychiatric Social Worker Saleem Yousuf.
The overall Programme was made successful under the valuable guidance and support of Dr.Syed Masood Sir Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kulgam.

Awareness Session on Mental Health at Kendriya Vidyalaya Aminnoo, Kulgam

On 17th April 2025, an insightful session on mental health was conducted By District Mental Health Unit District Hospital, Kulgam at Kendriya Vidyalaya Aminnoo, Kulgam. The session was led by Dr. Irshad Ahmad:(psychologist) and Saleem Yousuf (psychiatric social worker).

The program focused on raising awareness about mental health disorders, including sleep disorders, thinking disorders, and other psychological challenges that students may face in their daily lives. Dr. Irshad Ahmad emphasized the importance of early identification and intervention, while also offering practical strategies to improve mental well-being.

The session also highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, positive thinking, stress management, and seeking help without hesitation. Students actively participated and interacted during the session, making it both informative and engaging.

Such initiatives play a vital role in breaking the stigma around mental health and equipping young minds with the knowledge and tools they need to lead healthier, happier lives.

One day Awareness cm Sensitization Programme about Drug De Addiction under the Programme NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAAN was conducted by DMHP and ATF District Hospital Kulgam at 163 BN CRPF CAMP WALNUT FACTORY QAZIGUND Kulgam Today on 7TH APRIL 2025 under the Supervision and Valuable guidance of Chief Medical Officer Kulgam and Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kulgam.
The Kashmir so called paradise on earth has lost into drugs. Being student or uneducated, married or unmarried, male or female, urban or rural, professional or non professional- irrespective of caste and creed we are seeing patients from every section of our society. The situation is so alarming that the teenagers are getting involved in this menace. seeing a 12 year young boy of our society consuming drugs shows how the addiction is spreading like a life threatning virus in our society. It is responsiblity for every member of our society, to stand up and make efforts to eradicate the deadly menace from our society. if there is drug abuse person in your sorrounding dont ignore him but help him because he needs your help, he needs treatment not ignorance.
