a simple yet delicate MIPSI (Minimally Invasive Pain and Spine Interventions) of Pain Medicine, ie Percutaneous Balloon Compression of Gasserian Ganglion, that too under only 'Local Anesthesia', as patient has Cardiac issues precluding general anesthesia, is 'The Savior' with immediate relief and Removal of NG Tube after 4 hours, as patient is able to eat comfortably now..

Today, October 7, is recognized as International Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day. This day aims to raise awareness about a rare and painful neurological condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, causing sudden and severe facial pain. The pain can be triggered by everyday activities like brushing teeth, talking, or even a light breeze

Affects approximately 1 in 20,000 people, with women more likely to be affected than men.
Symptoms-sharp, or electric shock-like pain on one side of the face, often triggered by specific actions.
Treatment- includes anticonvulsant medications, percutenous minimally invasive MIPSI, surgical options like microvascular decompression, and lifestyle modifications to manage triggers

Raising Awareness: for patients to know treatment option as percutenous RFA and PBC may help patient to get relief from pain

Cervical pain due to a herniated disc can cause radiating pain, often accompanied by:

*Symptoms:*

1. Neck pain
2. Radiating pain to arms, shoulders, or hands
3. Numbness or tingling sensations
4. Weakness in muscles
5. Decreased reflexes

*Management:*

1. *Conservative treatment:*
- Physical therapy (neck exercises, stretches)
- Pain management medications (NSAIDs, muscle relaxants)
- Heat or cold therapy

2. *Lifestyle modifications:*
- Posture correction
- Regular exercise (neck strengthening)
- Stress management techniques

3. Pain interventions or MIPSIS
- cervical epidural steriod interventions


4. *Surgical options:
- Discectomy or spinal fusion (in severe cases)

*Symptom management tips:

1. Maintain good posture
2. Take regular breaks to stretch
3. Use proper lifting techniques
4. Manage stress through relaxation techniques (e.g., meditation, deep breathing)

Recently Pain Medicine Team of , got an opportunity to do an awareness campaign on various aspects of 'Pain Medicine', it's treatment especially MIPSIs and various chronic pain syndromes by Doordarshan Uttar Pradesh .

1. First Part- Dr Anurag discussed about the new and emerging super-specialty branch of Pain Medicine, Pain Physicians, difference between acute and chronic pain, MIPSIs and Trigeminal Neuralgia

2. Second Part, Dr Brahaspati Tiwari, Pain Physician, Lucknow, explained the most common chronic pain problem Joint Pain, shoulder, knee and Hip and most advanced Pain Biological/ Regenerative therapy MIPSI and Radiofrequency Treatment.

3. Third Part- Prof Dr Shivani Rastogi , Pain Physician, Rmlims Lucknow , explained about the most dreadful Cancer pain and it's early and advanced Management by various MIPSIs including Intrathecal Pump Therapy.
