Vatsalya was set up as a resource centre on health in the year 1995 by group of medical professionals, to contribute for the consistent endeavor towards enhancing capacity of individuals and communities to understand comprehensive framework of “Health” in terms of science and art. Our major issues for intervention have been declining child s*x ratio and female feticide, child malnutrition and community based new born care, micro nutrient deficiencies and maternal & adolescent health, HIV/AIDS, child protection etc. Vatsalya preliminary aims at strengthening and empowering the micro NGOs working on health issues at grass root level and advocating health imbalances prevalent in the society and is committed towards the capacity building of the functionaries of all levels, enriching literature in easy to understand language, strengthening the ongoing attempt by providing consultancy services and marching towards a harmonious healthy society by advocating for social health issues.

Vatsalya with support of HCL Foundation under "Aao Batein Karein" project , organized the first breast cancer screening camp using the Thermalytix™ Machin that delivers early detection of breast cancer via artificial Intelligence at UCHC Aliganj on the 7th of June. In the camp 42 womens were screened for breast cancer and 70 on BP and Diabetes. The Breast Cancer Screening camp was inaugurated by Dr. Neeraj Bora, MLA Lucknow North

On the occasion of international women's day Vatsalya organized interactive seminar where Ms. Twishi Srivastava ,HJS,Joint director ,judicial training and research institute attended as a chief guest and had panel of guests like Mr. Vineet kumar Singh(Associate manager HCL Foundation ), Ms Vartika shukla (Mahila kalyan adhikari ),Ms Swati Sharma ( director RAINBOW Society for differently abled people ),Dr. Amita Kumar ( MBBS,MD (gyne)),Saleha khatoon (Ex. In view of health and nutrition, Vatsalya proposed an intervention intended to strengthen the systematic structure of RKSK and also in mobilizing community adolescents by strengthening Peer Educator (PE) at the grass-root level component of the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram, RKSK scheme.
The intervention was focused on convergence within Health & Family Welfare – Family Planning, National To***co Control Programme, National Mental Health Programme, Non-Communicable Diseases, and IEC in intervention areas.
