On 27th evening, Ms Priyanka and Ms Kritti from ALLI brought a woman named Ms Sheffali Sinha. Ms Sheffali hails from Jamshedpur. She was nicely dressed and spoke coherently. However, after detailed interview, we learnt that she is mentally challenged and a victim of domestic violence. She informed us that she is MBA (Finance and Marketing). Also, her parents are in the habit of leaving her at home alone for more than 6 months and going to other places. Her parents also have been brutally beating her. It is very unfortunate that Ms Sheffali in spite of being well educated and around 40 years of age is a victim of gross brutality at the hands of her parents and siblings. She was not given medications of her illness also.

after receiving written statement from ALLI volunteers have provided her shelter, food and clothing. We on 28th August, 2014; took her to Lohia Hospital, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow; for proper Diagnosis of mental illness. However, the Psychiatrist was not available. It is suspected that Ms Sheffali is a patient of Schizophrenia.
Ms Sheffali is well-behaved and educated. She does not wish to return home to Jamshedpur. She fears violence from her parents and siblings. And she fears being lonely in her house with no one to care for her for months.
