Proning position is now being actively recommended to COVID+ patients under home isolation and fluctuating SPo2 levels to boost oxygen levels.

According to experts, Prone position is extremely helpful for COVID patients battling breathing difficulties, discomfort and shortness of breath since it helps to maintain and promote ideal blood oxygen and saturation levels in the body. It can be done thrice in a day and works to garner instant relief to patients suffering from any oxygenation problem, or finding it hard to scour oxygen supplies. If studies and researches are to go by, doing self-proning for over 30 minutes can boost oxygen readings from 88 to 94 and above!

Hi everyone. It's been a few months now since anti - covid vaccination was started in our country. But even now, awareness remains poor and mixed messaging by the government and media has not helped. This is a list of some important and practical points about vaccination from few eminent doctors as per their very own experience and research.

1) Should I take the vaccine if eligible? -
Yes, as soon as possible.

2) Which vaccine to take? -

For pregnant and lactating females & those with immunosuppressive diseases - Take Covishield. All others can take either vaccine, but make sure you take the second dose of the same vaccine (don't mix and match).

3) I had covid recently? Should I take vaccine? If yes, when?

Yes please take the vaccine even if you had Covid - 19 infection previously. But delay your vaccine for 90 days from the day you came positive.

4) I took first dose of vaccine and then I came Covid - 19 positive a few days/ few weeks
later. What to do about second dose?

In this case Covid - 19 infection already acts like a booster after first dose. So delay second dose for 60 - 90 days after coming positive.

5) Pfizer has 95% efficacy while Covishield only has efficacy between (62 - 90%)? Are we being given an inferior vaccine?

Pfizer and Moderna trials were completed much earlier than Covishield (AstraZeneca)/ J & J/ Covaxin trials. At that time variants were not in circulation. So, we can't say for sure.
Until trials for 2 vaccines are held at the same time, in the same population, specifically to compare - we can't say which vaccine is better and which one is worse.

6) What about variants? Covishield is not effective against South African variant.

Trials have shown that efficacy of Covishield goes down significantly against South African variant. However, it still showed excellent protection against hospitalisation and death irrespective of variants. So, it's still advisable to take the vaccine.

7) What about blood clots? Is it safe to take the vaccine?

The chances of blood clots are around 400 times more if you smoke and 40000 times more if you get Covid - 19 infection as compared to taking AstraZeneca/Covishield vaccine. Clotting is an extremely rare side effect, so please go ahead and take the vaccine.

😎 I know atleast 8 - 10 people who took first dose and got infected. I also know 2 - 3 people who took both doses and still got infected? What then is the point of the vaccine?

It is very important to manage our expectations from the vaccine. It is not showing significant protection against infection. It should protect you from significant disease and hospitalisation. Full protective effect develops 2 - 3 weeks after second dose. Please continue taking all precautions even after vaccination.

9) What should be the gap between 2 doses of Covishield and Covaxin?

For Covishield - government now recommends 6 - 8 week interval between 2 doses. A larger gap between 2 doses has been shown to increase efficacy.

For Covaxin, stick to a 4 week interval between the 2 doses.

10) I have taken 2 doses of Covishield. Should I take Covaxin / another vaccine/another shot of Covishield for additional protection?

Please don't. It might be counterproductive/ harmful.

11) I am extremely fit. I go to the gym everyday and also do yoga. I have no co morbidities and I also take multiple supplements everyday and Dabur Chyawanprash. I would rather rely on my immunity than a vaccine.

Kudos to you. By taking good care of yourself, you have reduced your chances of severe disease and death as compared to an unfit person. You have been smart, so please don't make a stupid decision now. Presently we are seeing severe disease and death even among young people in their 20's/early 30's - without any prior disease/ co morbs. So, please take the vaccine as soon as possible if eligible.

12) In lactating mother
2 doses 28 days apart. Covishield n covaxin can be given safely
Two doses 28 days apart in third trimester
This is from a colleague who is expert in Covishield n covaxin

P.S. - Please remember that while vaccine efficacy might vary widely, masks have an 100% efficacy against Covid - 19 infection. So, please mask up!

P.P.S. - WHO estimates that many poor countries will have first access to vaccine only by 2023 - 24 (unless someone donates). We are extremely lucky that we have a vaccine production industry in our country. So, please get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Non Medicos plzz pay Attention:

If one Test is positive, Don't get repeated Test to Confirm COVID.

Don't get CT scan in initial Days of symptoms it will come Normal unless your Doctor suggest.

Don't Repeat CT scan yourself picture can be worse Even after Treatment.

No Test needed to CHECK if you have become Negative unless required for your official purpose.

All Those Tested positive can stay Together, even those who got cured last month later Tested Negative.

Lactating Mothers with mild to moderate symptoms can continue Breastfeeding with Mask and Hand Hygiene. Benefit outweighs Risk.

Childrens mostly have mild symptoms which can be managed with simple medications for Fever and Cough.

Childrens with moderate to severe symptoms consult your paediatrician.

Fever Bodyache will persist despite Medications Kindly Bear for Few Days Don't Rush to Doctor for it again and again in isolation period.

Don't Approach Hospital for Routine checkup. Don't prove yourself an idiot again and again.

If you are still wearing Mask below Nose you don't have Right to complain about failed Cannulation by Nursing staff. They are Tierd Exhausted and still Smarter than you

Don't Rush after Remdesvir, Toclizumab Fabiflu etc. Jo available hai Khao . Nothing Guarantees Cure for COVID.

The only Smartest Thing you can do is keep a check on Spo2 level. Value below 90 definitely needs oxygen support and Hospital Admission.

Little heavy dose but meaningful for walking on the difficult Road , difficult Time and DIFFERENT Situations.

IQ, EQ, SQ, AQ
....According to psychologists, there are four types of intelligence:

1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)
3) Social Quotient (SQ)
4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)

1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ): this is the measure of your comprehension ability", solve maths; memorize things and recall subject matters.

2. Emotional Quotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others; keep to time; be responsible; be honest; respect boundaries; be humble, genuine and considerate.

3. Social Quotient (SQ):
This is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go farther in life than those with high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize in improving IQ level while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your character; your SQ represents your charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs but more especially your EQ and SQ.

EQ and SQ make one manage better than the other.

Pls don't teach children only to have higher IQ , but also to have higher EQ and SQ.

Now there is a 4th one :
A new paradigm

4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ):
The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life and come out without losing your mind.
AQ determines who will give up in face of troubles and may abandon their families.
In the current context of Corona, many professionally successful people are going thru bouts of Depression. Because they haven't seen and thus are unprepared for Adversity.

To parents:
Expose children to other areas of life than academic. They should adore manual work, sport and art .

Develop their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of the parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for the children. Prepare the children for the road.

*[07/06, 12:10]:*
*The US government’s Centre for Disease Control has made official the emerging scientific evidence on Coronavirus transmission:*

Very low risk of transmission from surfaces.
Very low risk from outdoor activities. Very high risk from gatherings in enclosed spaces like offices, religious places, cinema halls or theatres. These findings that have been emerging for a while need to be applied by people to manage the situation in the best manner possible. Time to reduce panic about surface transmission, and time to not be too eager to go back to office.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/05/21/virus-does-not-spread-easily-contaminated-surfaces-or-animals-revised-cdc-website-states/

*Latest from CDC, USA*
[07/06, 12:10]

*Who is expected to catch corona.... an interesting analysis*

*WHAT IT TAKES TO INFECT*

To successfully infect you, the virus needs a dose of: ~1000 viral particles (vp)
The typical environmental spread of activities:
Breath: ~20 vp/minute
Speaking: ~200 vp/minute
Cough: ~200 million vp (enough of these may remain in air for hours in a poorly ventilated environment)
Sneeze: ~200 million vp
FORMULA
Successful infection = Exposure to Virus * Time
SCENARIOS
* Being in vicinity of someone (with 6 ft distancing): Low risk if limit to less than 45 minutes
* Talking to someone face to face (with mask): Low risk if limit to less than 4 minutes
* Someone passing you walking/jogging/cycling: Low risk
* Well-ventilated spaces, with distancing: Low risk (limit duration)
* Grocery shopping: Medium risk (can reduce to low by limiting time and following hygiene)
* Indoor spaces: High risk
* Public Bathrooms/Common areas: High fomite/surface transfer risk
* Restaurants: High risk (can reduce to Medium risk by sitting outdoors with distancing and surface touch awareness)
* Workplaces/Schools (even with social distancing): Very high risk, including high fomite transfer risk
* Parties/Weddings: Very high risk
* Business networking/conferences: Very high risk
* Arenas/Concerts/Cinemas: Very high risk

*RISK FACTORS*
The bottom line factors you can use to calculate your risk are:
- indoors vs outdoors
- narrow spaces vs large, ventilated spaces
- high people density vs low density
- longer exposure vs brief exposure
The risks will be higher for former scenarios.

*STAY SAFE*

Person-to-person spread is the primary source of transmission.
