🛑Many people use depression as a synonym for sadness, or refer to 'feeling depressed' during moments of brief emotional pain or low mood. This can create a lot of confusion around what depression really is, and when to seek help.

🛑Sadness is a natural, human response to life's hard moments. It can be painful, but it usually fades with time and doesn't take over everything. Depression, on the other hand, is more than just a passing feeling. It can linger for weeks or longer, affect how you think, eat, sleep, and connect, and it doesn't always have a clear reason.
