Say goodbye to painful varicose veins — without surgery!
Modern Interventional Radiology offers needle-based, scar-free treatments like Laser Ablation (EVLA) and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) that can completely cure:
• Leg swelling
• Leg ulcers
• Tortuous bulging veins
• Edema & pain
• Difficulty walking

These minimally invasive treatments are safe, effective, and require no open surgery — helping you return to normal life quickly.

✨ Let’s spread awareness!
If you or your loved ones have varicose veins, consult your doctor for advanced non-surgical treatment options.
Avoid surgery — choose safer modern IR treatments.

Emergency Splenic Artery Embolization – Life Saved, Spleen Preserved.
Young trauma patient with high-grade splenic injury + hemoperitoneum, presenting with falling Hb & low BP from active bleed.
Prompt endovascular embolization controlled hemorrhage and stabilized vitals — organ salvage achieved.

🔴 Post-embolization
• BP & Hb stabilized
• Observe for re-bleed/ischemia
• ICU support & transfusion done

IR = Rapid bleed control. Organ preservation. Faster recovery.

🔍 Case Highlight: Interventions Targeting the Cause Rather Than Just the Event
🧠Elderly female with slurring of speech/dysarthria, no weakness, low NIHSS LVO — traditionally a scenario where thrombectomy is deferred due to non-disabling presentation.
✅Evaluation revealed a symptomatic carotid web leading to left MCA stroke. While deficits were mild, data shows ~1/3 risk of recurrent stroke despite medical therapy — emphasising that the danger lies in the mechanism, not the initial score.
🧠 We proceeded with carotid stenting to treat the cause, not just the event.
Procedure completed successfully, with balloon assistance for tortuosity.
Low NIHSS ≠ low recurrence risk. Definitive treatment prevents the next, possibly disabling stroke.

Honoured to receive the Promising Young Radiologist Award 2025 from the IRIA Madurai Subchapter.

I am truly thankful and humbled by the support from the IRIA TN & PY leadership, the Madurai Subchapter team, and my seniors throughout this journey.

This recognition encourages me to keep learning, growing, and contributing to the advancement of Interventional Neuroradiology—both in patient care and academic platforms.

Simultaneous Anterior & Posterior Circulation Stenting

An elderly male presented with a minor stroke, but imaging revealed critical stenosis in both the carotid artery (anterior circulation) and the left vertebral artery (posterior circulation).

To prevent another major ischemic event, we performed dual-vessel endovascular stenting in the same session — restoring blood flow to both circulation territories and significantly reducing future stroke risk.

Modern stroke care is not just about treating the present event but preventing the next one.
Timely diagnosis + Advanced endovascular therapy = Life-changing outcomes.

🧠Simultaneous Carotid & Vertebral Artery Stenting
An elderly male with a minor stroke was found to have critical blockages in both anterior and posterior circulation. We performed both carotid and vertebral artery stenting in the same session to prevent a future major stroke and restore safe blood flow.
Timely diagnosis + Endovascular treatment = Powerful stroke prevention.

🧠 Saving Function While Treating a Brain AVM

We recently cared for a 14-year-old boy who had an AVM (abnormal tangle of blood vessels) in the motor area of the brain — the part that controls movement.
Our goal: treat the AVM without affecting his strength or movements.

Here’s how we did it ⬇️
🔹 First, we reduced the AVM by ~75% using a minimally invasive endovascular procedure (through blood vessels)
🔹 We used special brain monitoring throughout to keep his motor function safe
🔹 Then he underwent stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) — a focused radiation treatment
🔹 He is now on routine follow-up, doing well, and has no neurological deficits 🙏✨

This case shows how modern brain vessel treatments can be done safely with careful planning — protecting both life and function. ❤️🧠

🧠 Eloquent Cortex brain AVM (arteriovenous malformation)– Multimodality Staged Treatment
We recently treated a 14-year-old boy with an AVM in the left motor cortex, where preserving neurological function was crucial.
A multimodality staged approach was adopted:
🔹 Substantial nidus reduction (~75%) achieved through endovascular embolization, with no neurological deficit, under intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring ensuring motor pathway safety
🔹 Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) completed successfully
🔹 Now planned for interval check DSA — the child remains neurologically intact
This case highlights how coordinated Neuroteam care can safely manage AVMs in eloquent regions — aiming for cure without functional compromise. 💪🧠✨

🧠 Ruptured Brain Aneurysm – A Life Saved!

A young woman came in with a sudden severe headache — later found to have a ruptured brain aneurysm (a weak, bulging blood vessel in the brain).

Through a minimally invasive endovascular coiling procedure, the aneurysm was safely sealed from inside without opening the skull. ✅

💪 The blood vessel was preserved, blood flow restored, and the risk of fatal rebleeding completely prevented.

Modern neurointervention techniques can save lives — quickly, safely, and effectively. 🧠✨

👉 If someone suddenly develops a “worst headache of life”, seek medical help immediately!
Early treatment makes all the difference. ❤️‍🩹
