Sumathi Hospital was started in 1972 as consultation centre, for Obstetric and Gynaecology by Dr. S. It was expanded in 1984 when Dr.Soundarapandian, MD., DM., joined as Nephrologist & Physician to a multi speciality hospital, catering to medical, Nephrological and Obstetric and Gynaecology patients including Infertility treatment. In 1991 January, Sumathi Hospitals and Institute of Super Specialities was moved to the present location and the first test tube baby center of Madurai was established. At present, we are catering to all specialities in medicine and doing progressive work in the field of infertility.
