Through this page we wish to bring to you valuable knowledge published in medical journals in simple language, so that you feel empowered to make better health and lifestyle choices. We collaborate with various doctors having a rich experience in their field so that you get knowledge that you can trust. Till recently, our focus had been to bring before people evidence about the true consequences of using alcohol and tobacco. This is because even though they are 2 of the most common risk factors for death and disability in young people, their use continues to be popular due to prevalent misconceptions. Now July 2022 onwards, we have decided to bring before people valuable knowledge regarding other important physical and mental health issues as well. There are many messages circulating that Gen z is drinking less. But what we see around us is exactly the opposite. So what is the truth?

In USA, Gen Z is drinking less. In India, Gen Z is learning to love drinking, misguided by selfish celebrities

A 2023 survey done in USA, found that the share of adults under age 35 who say they drink dropped ten percentage points in two decades, to 62% in 2021-2023 from 72% in 2001-2003. But overall consumption in society in older age groups has been increasing.

However, in India, misinformation campaigns continue and socially acceptability of alcohol is actually increasing across all generations.

Previous generations of Indian adult citizens did a great job of preserving our culture of abstinence. Last few decades, we have failed miserably in our responsibility to guide the next generation well 🙏

On this republic day, appealing all responsible citizens to contribute towards spreading awareness about this addictive poison, and not let our Gen z get exploited by the Alcohol industry. Especially it would help if successful people don't contribute towards normalisation of consumption of this addictive poison, and lead by their own example 🙏

K. Narayana Naik, an 83-year-old retired teacher from Karnataka, is affectionately known as the “Scholarship Master.” For over two decades, he has travelled across rural villages and educational institutions in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, helping underprivileged students learn about and apply for scholarships. Through his persistent efforts — often riding his own bike and spending his modest pension on travel and support — he has helped more than 1 lakh students secure scholarships totaling around ₹5 crore. His work has significantly improved access to education for financially disadvantaged youth in the region.
