Pakistani girl Afsheen Gul from Sindh has fully recovered after undergoing free surgery by an Indian doctor for a rare neck condition known as atlanto-axial rotatory dislocation, which caused her neck to bend nearly 90 degrees and severely limited her daily life. Her case gained attention in 2017 and reached Indian spine specialist Dr. Rajagopalan Krishnan of Apollo Hospital, Delhi, who offered to perform the complex treatment at no cost.

After multiple procedures completed in 2022, doctors successfully realigned her skull and cervical spine using rods and screws, allowing Afsheen to hold her head straight and live independently. Her family has described the doctor as an “angel,” calling the recovery a powerful example of humanity and compassion beyond borders.
