What makes today’s Cytoreductive Surgery + HIPEC outcomes so much better?
It’s not just skill — it’s the technology revolution happening inside the OT.

In this video, we take you behind the scenes as the team completes Complete Cytoreductive Surgery and prepares for Hyperthermic Intra-Peritoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC).

One major reason outcomes have significantly improved is the use of advanced HIPEC delivery systems, especially the Rand Intraperitoneal Hyperthermia System Performer 3 equipped with reverse-flow technology.

This high-tech machine ensures:
🔥 Precise temperature control inside the abdomen
🔥 Uniform chemotherapy distribution for better tumor kill
🔥 Real-time digital monitoring for improved safety
🔥 More effective destruction of microscopic residual tumor cells

Thanks to innovations like these, patients today benefit from higher survival rates, fewer complications, and more consistent therapeutic results.

If you want to understand how modern surgical oncology is evolving with technology — this video explains it in the simplest and clearest way.

Prevention is better than cure. Generating awareness is one stride towards this end. The preventive edge initiative by gave my oncology colleagues and I the opportunity to discuss how we can harness AI to predict cancer risk, and how we can pragmatically utilise screening tools within our context. Genetic counselling, modern detection tests and lifestyle education are some of the integral aspects of this venture. Thank you and Dr Ritu Mittal Garg for spearheading this worthwhile enterprise. Watch out for the content on NDTV 24x7.

As the world reluctantly—but inevitably—embraces Artificial Intelligence, it becomes increasingly important to discuss safety and ethics to ensure truly responsible AI.

We must think ahead. Like duck hunting, if we aim at where the duck is, we will surely miss. We must aim at where it will be. In the same way, our ethical frameworks must anticipate where AI is going, not merely where it stands today.

I am grateful to the organisers at AIIAS (Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies) and AUP (Adventist University of the Philippines) for inviting me to speak on robotic surgery and the ways automation, virtual and augmented reality, and telesurgery are reshaping surgical practice.

I hope the discussion sparked curiosity and inspired young minds to explore this awe-inspiring and rapidly evolving field.

How are we contributing to helping patients with operable pancreatic tumours? Gathering scientific evidence, improving surgical technique/instruments, and standardising procedures are some of the areas impressed upon at Aurangabad (Chattrapati Sambhaji Nagar) along with leading surgeons and oncologists in the city. Dr Mahesh Goel - my mentor, Shraddha Patkar - my colleague and friend from Tata Memorial Center Mumbai, and Viraj borgaonkar - the host and organiser, made the evening special by deliberating on complex hepatobiliary oncological scenarios.
A special thanks to for making it possible.
